Edit Blog Post
(Swena) we're posting the last three blogs tonight because we've been busy traveling from island to island. another reason that we haven't been using the internet is that it's been very expensive, up to five times what we're paying to use it now. but the biggest reason would probibly have to be that kev and i have been recovering. but more on that later. Our time in langkawi was wonderful. we got a lot of R&R. then we hit Koh Samui and we felt like we were stepping into a different country. we got "robbed" (not literally) on our transit from Langkawi to Koh Sumai. the people that we payed to drive us there charged us way to much. but we learned our lesson (hopefully). Koh Sumai is a crazy party town. It's world famous for it's long, white, sandy beaches and for it's nightlife. we soon figured out that people only go to the beach to pass time until the sun goes down. when we got there, we were starving. we hadn't eaten all day, and for us, that's a lonnnnnng time. so, we went all out and ordered all kinds of good food. then we went looking for a
Bubbly Bhudda
Is this kev after a gallon of ice cream? place to stay. being as tired as we were, we ended up staying at an expensive, but nice, place. there was a/c and we had our own tv. it felt like heaven. after we ate, we went and did a little internet. i got done sooner than the other guys so i headed back to our room. as luck would have it, our street was a hang out for hookers and possibly (it's hard to tell in the dark) transvestites. anyways, they all propositioned me and tried to grab me as i ran by. but i made it. kevin had it even worse but i'll let him tell about that. so yea, we had a great time walking the beaches and swimming in the perfect water. the low spot of our stay, at least for me(i'm sure kev's was getting sick), was crashing my moped. i made sure not to write home about it until i had healed cause my dear loving mother tends to worry about me sometimes. it actually wasn't as bad as it sounds. i tried to stop and swerve at the same time to miss some kids that ran in front of me. they probibly would
0-60 in ummm well not that fast
Don't worry the whiteness is just sunscreen ;) have got out of the way but...oh well. anyways, i crashed cause the concrete had a fine layer of dust on it and was really slick. but dusting and kev got some alchohol and cleaned me up till we could get back and clean it better. i scrapped up both my hand, my right arm, and my right leg. so, that's why i haven't been doing a lot of typing for the last week or so. but i'm fine now. OH, anyways, yea. Koh Samui is a place that i'm glad to be able to say "i've been there." but i don't really care to ever go back again.

we felt a little white on Langkawi but I think that most of the people on Samui were made of brown leather. I like my skin though so I didn't really feel too jealous. There were barely any north americans in the area it seemed, either that or they weren't very talkative. On arrival it was one of those "so who knows where we're staying?" kind of deals that worked out in the end. We did end up paying more than what we were aiming for but
You can tell this guys a tourist
Some guy on langkawi told us we must be new cause we were so white. We're workin on it. as it turns out we payed for what we got and it was a really nice room with hot showers and a tv and fridge. I got a little sick of the little open trucks with speakers rolling down the road all hours of the day and night advertising their Thai boxing matches. Every couple minutes we'd hear "Lady and Gentleman, tonight, tonight, Great Fight, Best of the Best at 9:00 at Chaweng Stadium, Top Fight, Best stadium on Koh Samui" now put that in what you think Thai english would sound like and you have it, not to mention the music they would play between each statement.
The beach was very nice though, Chaweng Beach is longest beach on Koh Samui, and even though it was pretty packed with people I had an easy time swimming or laying on the beach when there wasn't somewhere to walk to. We got mopeds one day and toured the Island like we did on Samui. You can tour these islands cheaper by moped than you can by other transportation. Also, we found a place called "ninja crepes" they were pretty awesome in the food department (which I am always interested in).
The Pirates life for me
You will always remember this as the day you almost saw captian Jack Sparrow....... We ate there almost every day. Samui was pretty cool though, not really for the tourists that want to relax but pretty beaches and very easy to find your way around in any case. We've been having fun.

Ko Samui did not treat me well. First of all i got heat rash on my neck, then i got bit up by bugs, but the real kicker was i got really sick. The heat rash and bug bites all happened by the first day so i looked really cool as i walked down the beach...lol but the beach itself was very nice. Chaweng Beach stretched for about a mile and half each direction and the woman were sun bathing European style...
Ko Samui will be remembered in my mind as ice cream island and as the place i got sick. We ate ice cream every day, sometimes twice a day...one night we had the craving hit again so we decided to really go to town. Me and Matt split a half gallon of chocolate deliciousness and boy at the time was it good...but wait! That night my stomach started to rumble and i had that feeling... you know the
"Thai name here" Falls
We forgot the name of these waterfalls one...and then i lost it. I litterally had ice cream comming out my nose, I then threw up for ten hours straight, believe me it was not fun. Thankfully i am better now.
Talk to you later
~love Kev
(Swena again) i have to say a little bit about kev's bad luck. he didn't just get bit by the bugs. they feasted on him. dust and i had maybe three or four bites between us. kev had close to 50, if not more. he looked like a polka dot sweater. but he's feeling good now and looking even better. lol. anyways, peace out.
