A bungalow at Garden Inn - A place called home
Accommodation is more expensive here than in Phuket, but we now got a reasonable place to stay, a bungalow in a quiet corner at Garden Inn. Unfortunately no guest room this time, but pretty good and most importantly it is clean. Garden Inn is on the other side than the busy Ton Sai bay. We have one room plus a bathroom with hot water so Joachim is happy. We have a balcony with a lovely hammock for Nina to relax in, so she is happy too. Getting internet where you stay is not easy on this island as there are many internet cafes and a few wireless hot spots on the island, but after asking around we found a guy that could put a network cable into our bungalow so now we are surfing from hammocks and a fan cooled private room! 😊

Diving in shorts
Diving locally around the Phi Phi islands is quite good. It has lots of fish and corals and the visibility have so far been pretty good. Amongst other living creatures of the sea we have seen a black tip shark, a turtle, a seahorse, cuttlefish and an octopus. During snorkelling we saw a leopard shark (also called zebra shark). We went out to a area between Phuket and Phi Phi and dived a wreck called King Cruiser and WOW was there ever a lot of life! Schools of hundreds of big eye snappers. We also dived as site called anemone reef and they were not kidding, there were anemonies covering every inch! Great! AND not to forget temperatures over 30 degrees make the dives in shorts and rash shirt very lovely.

Work
We started out following instructor Toby doing a Advanced Course and then Flo doing a Open Water Course. We think working for Phi Phi Scuba will be great. It is super busy with 5 boats during the high season, but this should slow down as we are approaching low season. This does not necessary means that it will be less work as there are a lot less staff during this period. OH OH and Joachim got his teaching status so he signed off his first student already.

Wine
Wine is REALLY expensive in Thailand and being on a island it is even more expensive! So if you are coming this

If you wander up the hill from town you get a great view. There are several trails as well as view points.
way or know somebody that is coming this way please please bring some good wine for us!

Scandis and scandi food everywhere
They are everywhere. So we expect Joachim to pick up Swedish and Danish quickly. 😊
