Koh Pha Ngan

17th - 26th february 2008

We left Koh tao and jumped back on the catamaran to Koh Pha Ngan, the trip took about an hour and a half to Thongsala. Once there we found ourselves a taxi which would take up to the north of the island where we could get a boat to Bottle beach, after a few arguments by people in the taxi as it was costing us 200 bahts each we finally set of to Chakalom once at Chakalom Pier we got a water taxi to Bottle beach that cost us a further 300 bahts to get to Bottle Beach. Once arrived at BB we went to find some accommodation. There is only 4 places on BB where you can stay, BB1 had a room, but by the time i had got back to see matt they had given it to someone else. Matt headed off to BB3 and got us a lovely stone built bungalow round the back of there main newly built hotel area ( shame to build something like that on BB) We loved our room, massive double bed and a small single bed, all very clean for 450 bahts a night. There isnt much to do on BB but its still one of the last beached on Koh phan ngan relatively unspoilt. We stayed in BB3 for 4 nights as they had someone else booked in ahead but we changed and got a little beach bungalow with BB2 for 550 bahts a night. We both really loved it here the food at BB2 was good value and nice and the staff were fantastic fun and always chatting and joking about. It was sad to go but after 9 nights it was time to move onto Haad rin

26th - 28th february 2008

We left BB by boat back to Chakalom and got a taxi back to Thongsala, once there we got taxi to take us to Haad rin, the Full Moon party had passed so knew we should be able to get somewhere to stay. Once dropped off I headed off to find us some accommodation. Havign tried a few places I found Delight Resort and a lovely double room with A/C and hot water for 750 bahts a night over our budget but for 2 nights it was a treat. They had there own swimming pool so will chilled in the day time at the pool.. Becuase of the FMP a few days before, the beach was awful lot sof fag butts everywhere and bottles and real shame, compared to when I went there back in 99 and again in 04 it really is just a tourist trap and totally spoilt now. 😞 2 nights was plenty in haadrin and time to move onto Koh samui.
