Where we went:- Bangkok, we spent the most time here seeing monuments, walking around kohsan road, taking tuk tuks and took one day trip - our day trip was to the floating market (so hot that day) where we were paddled through the market on a long boat, bought cheesy plates with our pictures on them, had an amazing lunch of chicken, BBQ pork, egg (well Chris had the egg), rice, cilantro, chilies, cucumber and some red sauce - YUM, for dessert we had these thin crispy wafers with meringue and mango/ papaya soo good! Then there was a motorized long boat to take us through another side, we ended up at a hotel that had a cobra show - we didn't go, we didn't want to! Then it was to the bridge over the river Kwai where we took the most rickety train across the bridge. Our last stop was the TIGER Temple which was awesome!!! At first it seemed like a bust until we got up close and petted about 5 different tigers in amongst 15 cats lounging in the sun. Then we played with two tiger cubs! - Other Bangkok highlights include Chris getting his first Thai massage and me getting butchered during my pedicure. The "esthetician" sliced off a chunk of my heel, man that hurt soo much!- We loved Bangkok, we'd stroll the streets judge a restaurant by the price of the beer, if it was more than three cdn or 90 baht for a big Chang it was expensive lol- Our trip was filled with awesome food, from Penang curry to noodle soup, to roast duck curry or spicy beef salad yum!- While at our fav eating spot, the cool corner, we found an Aussie travel agent who arranged for us to trek in Chaing Mai, to Bangkok to Koh Tao, to koh phagnan to Phuket. - CM was nice, I'd like to go back for longer bc we really just saw the touristy parts, to many Aussies, Americans and Canadians.- the trek was beautiful our guide, Mr. P, was like raffeky from lion king. We walked to waterfalls and hiked through rice paddies, to spend the night in a local village. - it was nice bc it was us and another couple, similar in age, from France; we got along great.- we did frequent the Chaing Mai saloon to watch hockey games and play a few rounds of pool.- Chris found us a beautiful spot in Tao that over looked the ocean. To fill our day there we rented a scooter (Thai motor bike) and went snorkelling, visited Nauyguan and burnt our backs to a crisp! Peeling for days and about $6 worth of aloe. - From there we quickly island hopped to Koh Phi Phi don; the highlight of P.P. was two fold. Our bungalow that over looked the ocean and our booze cruise on Captain Bob's boat where we sailed around Phi Phi Ley to monkey beach to cliff jumping (for Chris) to snorkeling to Maya bay and spent time floating in the ocean drinking Chang!- After the booze cruise we, mostly me, had a Chang over, but we were able to successfully make it Koh Lanta.- in Koh lanta we relaxed and had awesome food the highlights were the green chili restaurant and the ham and cheese spring rolls.- When we left Koh Lanta, it was a grueling 8 hour journey to Langkawi. Most of was on a dingy ferry for koh Lipe - koh Lipe is on the to visit list, aka the list, a small island without a pier just long boats and speed boats - from Koh Lipe we left Thailand without seeing an official and entered Malaysia on a speed boat with a supped up stereo and a booster seat so the driver could see over the wheel as we skipped across the Adaman sea it was like taking a rap video, minus t-pain
