We said goodbye to beautiful Chiang Dao,so peaceful and wanted to spend more time there.Off to Chiang Mai for two nights before training it to Bangkok.We ate out the first night and went on ariver trip on the Ping and finished the day with a walk up to Wat Suthep just outside chiang Mai.

need i explain, this was taken just before we left on a bus to Chiang Mai.On the way the bus was stopped for a search by the military and the police!

Notice the electronic temperature, 37.5 phew! by the time we left at about 9pm it was 35.5, much cooler.

Notice the yellow flag of the government,Chaing Mai is very Red,and the Thai national flag. It took us a while to cross the road,we are discovering there is a technique,guts and sharp eyes.

This was our boat trip onthe river Ping in Chiang Mai.Do you remember Rambo3? well this was the boat in that film.

A drought for a few weeks in this area means the water is very brown.Monsoons expected very soon.

These boats have car engines as motors and are difficult to steer but powerful.

Our midway stop for lunch was a surprise, the farm is based on the edge of Ping and serves food all home grown.

The heat was 40 ish! Patience for the fisherman with shade. We saw loads of sofas on the side of the Ping, used by the fishers we think.

people had contributed to the monastry and in return got a wee bell that they could write a little something, for luck

We were told to ring a bell for luck, there was a large choice.

Met this local family on way up to temple by steps,they were 2 kids and I think they saw all the steps and threw the thai teddy out of pram.

Our choice for an evening meal in Chiang Mai on the River Ping, it was impressive,the view and food.

Our sleeper to Bangkok, leaving 4.30pm arriving 7.30am.

Open plan, the conductor makes up beds and everyones in bed by 8.30/9.00 ish.We didn't sleep as very bumpy and noisy,other people.
