Edit Blog Post
Hi again everyone,
Yesterday I spent an hour writing a massive blog entry all about the jungle trek we had just finished, but unfortunately it didnt upload and i lost it!! highly annoying!! So I will write another one now but it won't be as detailed as the previous one!!
We got picked up at 9.30am on fri morning where we met the rest of our group we would be spendng the next few days with!! There was a nice range of people of different nationalities: 2 Dutch girls, 2 Swedish girls, 3 Belgium ppl, 3 Korean guys, us 3 (obv), an annoying Scottish who knew everything about everything and our 2 leaders - June and July (dont think they were their real names some how!). Oh and how can I forget Buffalow Bill!! He was basically a follower of June and July but I dont think he was all there in the head! I have a video of him I will put up on myspace! All he could say was 'lovely jubbly me baby'. He was very helpful and caring tho!
Our first stop was the elephant trek! Me and amy were together on one and ellie
Waterfall
Our lunchbreak on our first day of trekking went with one of the Korean Guys who didnt speak any english! Our elephant was really greedy and asked for a banana with his trunk every 2 secs! But i suppose they are bloody big animals 2 feed! Ellie's one kept on sprayin them with spit if they didnt feed him! Hilarious!
Then we were off to start our mammoth of a trek!! we hiked up a mountain in the balzing midday sun with no stops and a heavy back pack on!! felt like i was in army camp!! amy got buffalow bill to carry her bag coz she felt very faint! it was a challenge but we came through and felt really good at the end! we stopped at the waterfall for lunch and a well deserved break!
then we walked again for a few more hours until we reached the village where we were staying for the night. It was a Burmese tribe who lived in the village - Buffalow Bill was from here! Everything was very basic - teh toilet was a hole in th ground and teh shower was a bucket of water over your head! good fun though!
after dinner, we sat around the camp fire where the children from the village came and sang to us! Then we had to sing them a song from our counties so us 3 sang twinkle twinkle little star!! bit random i know!
after an average nights sleep with a mosquito net covering me which had a massive hole in, we started another day of walking! This wasnt wuite as hard as teh prevoius day but never-the-less it still got those leg muscles pumping!! after lunch we acrried on walking until we reached our destination for the nights sleep. here we stayed in bungalows which was very cozy with all 3 of us under one mosquito net! after our swim and shower in the waterfall, we came back to our bungalow to find a trail of red ants all over my clothes and my clothes only!! not very pleasant! so we swapped bungalows with the annoying scottish guy!! hehe!!
we were all dreadin that nights sleep coz it was on a hard wooden floor and very squashed. and i think we just realised we were sleeping amongst cobras and black widow spiders and red ants! But it turned out taht we were so tired that we fell asleep quite easily!
Our last day inlvoved more walking but this was all downhill fortunately! Then after lunch we went bamboo rafting! Everyone was very naive and thought we wouldnt get that wet even tho we were floating down a river with a fast current on a few bamboos tired 2gether with string!! needless to say, i was the only one to fall in!! well the man tried to capsise our raft and i was the one to suffer losing both flip flops and tryin to chase our raft down the river!! it was all good fun!!
When we got back to Chiang mai, we thought we deserved a massage so we did just that!! It was painful but beneficial as our muscles all over our body were very very tight!!
All in all the trip was well worth it and id do it all again!! It was a unique experience i think and I am still feeling the pain of it!! My favourite parts were my new catapult i bought off one of the tribesmen (its now my favourite toy - a lethal weapon), Buffalow Bill (what a legend), falling off the Bamboo raft and winning the game 'Challenge Phil' - Phil was the annoying guy who knew everything about everything, and amy made a game where you had a ask him a question he didnt know the anser to! I asked him if he knew where the word POSH came from and he didnt!! woohoo!! victory!!
anyway, I am sorry if this drags out a bit but i like to keep track myself of what we have done so far! We have only been here a week but it feels like a month!! I am sorry if there are a lot of spelling mistakes but i really cant be bothered to check (sorry Emma!)
Next stop is the islands! Bring on the full moon beach party!!
speak to you then!!
keep me updated on anything that is going on at home even if you think its boring!!

spelling v English
your English is improving! Sadly, your spelling isn't! Great story and very funny! Especially you falling into the river - typical! everything good at home - nothing to worry about PS your car is quite quick but doesnt withstand crashes very well! anyway, keep the detailed stories coming - amusing me during boring work - very very jealous though! look after each other x
