Howdy all! I have absolutely fallen in love with Thailand. We took a 12 hour train ride from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and were able to see a cross section of the country. It was a very interesting experience and one that I am truly happy to have had. There is a little of everything in this country. There is crushing poverty, untold wealth and a very healthy and vibrant middle class. Chiang Mai and Bangkok are bustling with progress and change. There is a focus on the future with a very alert eye to the past. Going into the countryside is like stepping back in time. Bamboo huts, rice paddies and water buffalo fill the landscape from horizon to horizon. Accept for the occasional Toyota truck and the intermittent rattling of the train, there is little to indicate that you are in the 21st century. I am blessed to be here and I look forward to adding another entry soon.

Hopefully, I will have the opportunity to upload some pictures soon!
