And so after almost a month in Laos, really a country and culture wanna reside in i spoiled myself and took a one hour flight back to Chiang Mai where i had left a suitcase a while back ... every time i end up in an internet cafe i wanna write bout daily life ... how i kinda spend mi days ,... however again i think more fun to take ya along with images and some text ... enjoy... of the guard were so magnificant ... oh yeah 4got to mention, m shooting this shot from eyeheight ...

soi means little alley ... obviously old town of chiang mai was filled with them ... sometimes ending up in big crossings and then suddenly the tiniest ways again ...

even in the local garbage dump ... was a nice one actually and the early-burning incense covered a lot of the smell

however i did 4get the name of it ... and as everything is packed away right now, this is the oldest 'working' temple i think i've been in ...

wouldn't be surprised if the elephants were of a later king/era adding it to the construction ...

every direction had a HUGE buddha in the top structure, of which 3 were no longer to be reached by a staircase, as the steps have taken place for a very steep slide

the 4 statues facing north,west, south east, look totally the same, however m sure there are differences ... just imagine the statue is 4.5x my height ...

just asked two thai locals if they had been to Chiang Mai and if they knew of the name of this temple ... both laughed and said they never go to temples ...

i like the original philosophy of Buddhism, however not as it is performed these days ... kids learning to beg and live of society, monks with the latest smartphones, rayban sunglasses, flying all over southeast asia, having latest computers .... etc etc etc
and what do they give back ...and what do they give back ...

beside keeping the temples going and obsolving those early enough to hit the morning market ...
