Okay so I finally found out what I had. Apparently if you are in the woods for too long under heat and mansoon, you get this nasty shit call Prickley heat. I toke some photo's so I can gross some of you out when I come back. Maybe I'll scan one and post it on this blog during one of your lunch times. =) So what is Prickly heat - pretty much this weird rash that you get because you are sweating too much from the humidity and sun. Your pores gets buggered up and this rash forms that looks like prickely bumps. Much or less like the STD rash Griffo gets from the lady boys =) hehe..i can bust his chops now because I know he won't be able to check his email, as I ... read more

Slepted through my wake up call and had to skipped my free breakfast because I was suppose to be meeting in the main lobby in 25 minutes. Today is Thai cooking which will take the entire day. The Thai cookingcourse is wicked. We started off at the market and was shown how to pick and prepare fresh veggies and fruits. We toke a 20 minute bus ride to the outskirts at this cooking school ran by two brothers.  They are apparently really good in Chang Mai.  I learnt how to cook all flavour of curry ( the best is Ping Ann curry which is different from all the curry, I was fortunate they showed us this style as it's not a common thing amongst westerners to order in thai resturants, this stuff kicks ass, Í'll be ... read more

DAY 1 So we split up into 2 cabs going to the Bangkok airport.  I rode with Jenny and we ended up in the International aiport and we didn't even know it.  We kept waiting for the other girls but they were in the domestic area.  Unlike Canada or BC for the matter, Domestic is like an entirely different airport on it's own.  So after about 5 tries, we finally got a cab and we got to the Domestic airport, and we literally had about 2 minutes to get ourself onto the plane.  Jessica pre did our flight intinary so we didn't have to waste time.  Talk about cutting it close and not making the flight entirely. The flight was 45 minutes and upon arrival was greeted by our driver.  We stayed at a guesthouse called ... read more

hi Everyone June 12 Saturday 12:30am Bangkok time well, I am back in Bangkok. Back in Bangkok???????? hello Mike, you don't live in Bangkok. Yes, I know but I have visited Bangkok so often enough that I call "it" my second ASIA home. I arrived in Bangkok about 10pm (Bangkok time) then waited, waited for the airport bus. It is the cheapest way to get into the city from the airport. I checked into my hotel about 12am. So Mike where are you this time???? Khaosan Road, backpacker haven with bunch of drunks . believe it or not ?? RAIN RAIN RAIN RAIN. I am staying at Classic Inn and it is cheap. A room with A/C & hot shower is at 450 baht a night and it's a about $10.05 US. This place reminds me ... read more

hi Everyone June 12 Saturday 8:30pm Bangkok time Hello from the City of Angel, NOT Los Angeles but Bangkok. Same as LA as in "nasty traffic and crowded" but different from LA as in Asia vs America. No matter how many times that I have been here, Bangkok is always same as in "many many people with bad traffic" but different as in many new buildings, bars, and also believe it or not "SKYTRAIN & SUBWAY". So Mike, does it mean less cars on the road??? the anwser is still NO. Are you kidding "NO CARS MEAN NO FEET". the roads are still AWEFUL. Annie and I went to the weekend market and it was SUPER CROWDED. I went off on shopping just a little bit :) For me, Bangkok is always same same and different ... read more

So the last I lefted off was at Koh San Road this morning.  Had some breakfast and then waited around to pick up the tickets to Chang Mai at this travel agent somewhere in Bangkok.  That is an understatement - "somewhere", because literally we had no idea where it was.  We asked a bunch of cabbies and they had no idea where it was even though we had the address.  We finally attempted to get there anyways, which probably wasn't smart because it toke us 1.5 hours to find this place and our flight was at 1PM. I was still pretty hungover from the night before but what's worst was the damn sweaty dirty smog that just clings to your face.  Pretty much 1 day in Bangkok was all I wanted to stay.  I was getting abit ... read more

What a crazy 2 days it has been.  First of all after watching Harry Potter with you guys, I ended up doing a last minute pack job because I fell asleep at home and didn't wake up till 4AM (had like an hour to get to the airport). Funny thing happen to me on the way to the airport, Mike the cab driver gave me a long ass surmon on the way there.  He was quite religous and insisted I prey to Jesus for a sign.  So in the lineup checking my bags at US Customs, I was approached by a priest.  How weird is that? Anyways, the flight from Vancouver to Seattle was alright.  It was quick but the Seattle airport licks cow balls.  Nothing to do and everything was expensive.  Everyone wasn't that friendly ... read more

Pretty sweet day - slepted only 2 hours but had a killer breakfast at this pretty cool hangout, which I think opens 24hours.  We did some shopping on Kho San and finally gave in to the Tuk Tuk driver.  Talk about giving us a ride - we wanted to goto MGK (i think) mall but we ended up going to 4 other places.  Which was fine I guess because we got to do alot of site seeing and picture taking.  Damn I even ended up buying some jewelry, talk about the will power of a snail, I just can't seem to say no.  So after all that mayhem, which toke about 3 hours we met this guy Pon who works in the mall at this seafood restaurant.  Dim Sum was like $1 A DISH.  I am in ... read more

So it hasn't really hit me yet that I'm about to fly over the Pacific in about 15 hours. Have I packed? Nope. I think I'll watch Harry Potter tonight. I have found denial was the best way to ease the post travel stress which everyone I know seem to go through. Nothing like 2 nights in a row at Gorgo-mish to take your mind away from the trip. There will be a few things I will miss leaving Vancouver. 1. Waiting in line at Gorgomish while sketchmaster T gets ahead of me. 2. Lights at Lotus coming on "come on, one last song" I'm sure I'll find some comfort at the Fullmoon party. :) Now I just have to figure out how I'm going to find this wedding I have to be in Vietnam without ... read more
