Prologue
I lived in Bangkok in 1994 and 1995 in the days before the metro and skytrain and before Suvarnabhumi Airport. At that time, roads were almost always gridlocked and it took a long time to travel even a short distance. I remember it once took me over two hours to drive 5 miles to work.
