Day 13 - Crazy shopping madness

Just a short blog for now.

After an amazing nights sleep we headed off to the exec lounge for breakfast, where Tom proceeded to eat about 5 persons worth of food! The breakfast was amazing, absolutely everything and anything you could possibly want and more. We then returned to the room, but it was in the middle of being cleaned so we ‘had’ to go back to the lounge for a free diet coke!!

We discussed what to do with our day, we had originally planned to spend it by the pool, so went down for an explore. Although the roof top pool was totally amazing (so many different types of loungers, some with air con units above!) and had stunning views we decided we still wanted to do some exploring. We decided to go to MBK, a crazy shopping centre for a look around and a wander around that area of Bangkok.

Ironically despite all the street food and dodgy places we have eaten within a few hours of our posh breakfast we both felt ill! Despite this was plodded on and explored each crazy level of the shopping centre.

Tom bought Sarah a kitsch phone cover (Hello Kitty and engagement rings all over it!), but other than that we didn’t really buy anything. The shopping centre itself was mad – you could buy pretty much anything – legal or not there! From cheap copies to the real deal!

We moved on to a nicer centre in the afternoon where we had lunch and bought our first wedding item – bride&groom post it notes for the planning!! We wiled away too many hours looking at weird and wonderful things and before we knew it, it was nearly 4pm!

We headed back to the hotel (via skytrain and boat). After showering and changing we are now sat in the exec lounge (notice a theme here?!) enjoying pre dinner cocktails! We are hoping to go into the city centre later for some open air roof top cocktails, to celebrate/commiserate our last night here.
