First day jitters!
Today was our first day of school at Samut Sakhon Wittyalai High School. We woke up at 5:30 am because we were paranoid about getting there on time. I think we were about 45 minutes early sitting in the foreign teacher's language staring at eachother wide-eyed and freaking out in our below-the-knee skirts and black flats (incredibly stylish). We went to the assembly program where all the 3,500 students listened to the head director talking about how they all needed to do their best this semester. At 8:25, while at assembly, they handed us our class schedules. My first class started at 8:30.....uhmmmm..okayy!! The classes were each 50 minutes long, consisting of name games ("WHAT IS YOUURRRR NAME?") and feeling out what level of English each class knew. The class sizes averaged at about 50 students and in a week I will see 22 different classes. Thats a lot of students to keep track of!
