We are now back in Thailand
We arrived after an overnight and sleepless trip and of course we ended up in Kao San Road (we'll never learn). Finding a hotel was as difficult as we expected but finally we found one on the street opposite, much more quieter and nicer.
By the end of the night and with one too many beers in my body I was ready to leave Thailand and probably even south east Asia. I was desperately missing India.
But leaving India was our choice and we decided that today we would try to go to Siam square, find a cinema and watch whichever film.
I fancied the long way to get there so we took the river boat then the Sky train. We arrived to MY OH MY!!!!! Siam Paragon. WHAT A PLACE!!!
There is no shopping mall like that shopping mall in any of the cities of Spain or the UK that we have been and in the heart of the city!
The basement has got an amazing gigantic food court and gourmet supermarket that cover the whole space and you can find everything you want and I mean it.
We were walking in the supermarket and I saw the delicatessen section i run towards it and I shed a tear, I looked at Ade and he looked back at me and hugged me, he understood, there were no words but one "Jamon". I suppose that you are very puzzled right now and you may even consider me a pathetic creature but then you cannot understand what "Jamon" (Spanish cured ham) means to us spanish, its like chips for the british, you just have to have it.
My friends Mar and Roberto organise every so often "La fiesta del Jamon", you are requested to bring a bottle of wine of your choice, hunger and thirst. La fiesta consist in enjoying eating jamon in different ways and drinking great fantastic wines surrounded by the most interesting people and friends, having surreal conversations, listening Chavela Vargas and singing all together to the sad, sad songs.
OOH! Do I miss my Valencia?
Come back, Maria!!!
So what we have decided is that tomorrow we will go to the food court, buy some bread (crusty), tomatoes, olive oil, jamon and spanish manchego cheese (we also found it, hoooray) and we will go for a picnic to a very nice park that we have spotted from the skytrain.
Today we have also watched a film at the cinema The Matador with Pierce Brosnan. It is strange to watch a film without having heard other people comments or reviews in the newspaper, not knowing what it is about. I have to say that I have laugh a lot and I think it's a great film. Good to see Pierce in a different role, not with the suave element.
I know this is a rather strange blog entry and I never thought I would be talking in this terms about an 8 storey shopping mall (when I hate shopping with multitudes around me) or a massive impersonal cinema complex, see how travelling changes you? TERRIBLE.
Anyway I think that we will go tomorrow to watch another film (I have film cravings). I'll tell you more.

glad you enjoyed your jamon. I'm surprised you missed India, I can't imagine what it must be like missing a dirty disorganised place, it must be great
