Bangkok (2001 - 2012) During 11 years (2001 - 2012) I made 9 trips to Thailand. I often spent a day or two in Bangkok and then I had to move on to other countries or cities. This is the rail line on the bridge. Tourists can walk on the bridge, unless the train comes.

There are many graves of the western prisoners of war (POW) at this cemetery. We can read the name, age, nationality and date of their death on the graves as well an saying that emphasizes the meaning of life.

This bridge is located 5km north of Kanchanaburi. The river's name was Mae Klong (renamed Kwai Yai river in 1960). This is not the original bridge, as it was destroyed during the raids in 1945.

I am standing on the railway on the bridge. I had to be careful when walking on it, otherwise I would be fall off into the river.
