Six spray types and a pause button
Now, don't get upset with me for my overzealous use of superlatives. I'm sure there are many great bathrooms in the world, but as with the "greatest internet cafe", I"m just having fun exaggerating the joy these facilities caused me at a particular place and time.

(The internet cafe blog was one of my most read, however, and business was a lot busier when I went in to write this current entry, so maybe I'm affecting things. No matter, you'll never find this bathroom. It's the idea that counts.)

I have my regular haunts, but Chelly has hers also. Turns out hers are better. This double bedroom with a kingsize bed, fantastic bathroom, and AC, cost about $1 more than the dingy, disgusting double rooms at the place I usually stay. With a couple more weeks of cold showers under my belt, I'd started to tire of pouring buckets of water down the toilet. Our visit to Bangkok couldn't have come at a better time.

The bathroom you see here featured a free-roaming shower wand with great pressure and six spray settings, all operated by push button controls. It even had a pause button if you want to

Forget holes in the ground and pails of water
soap up or scrub without having to fiddle for your volume and temperature again after.

The water for the shower ran through an independently breakered heating unit. Forget quickly-emptied hot water tanks, these things heat as you go. And ours got really hot.

Over on the toilet side, we had a nice big comfy one. The seat was new and clean, without the cracks or stains or tendency to slide around that most seats out here seem to have. Best part was the flusher. Just push a button and it all floats away. Incredible.

And when you're done, use that magnificent hose.

With a clear mirror and a spotless sink (firmly attached to the wall), I didn't want to leave. And nothing leaked!

Needless to say, there were very long, hot showers taken.
