And its really seriously HOT!!!!!!

Still feeling a bit jet lagged, but made it to the weekend market today which was crazily busy and a maze of market stalls, 12 hectres in fact, selling everything under the sun. Don't worry we managed to resist making too many purchases, but everything is pretty cheap which is good news after our extravagance in NZ. There is also no wine avaliable which is good for the budget. Rich has already become quite fond of a variety of local beers so he's happy.

Giles - good choice with the Atlanta, its lovely, pools fab, restaurant is great (had very hot curry at lunch, and Rich was fed his dinner by the waitress who is about 500 years old and obviously didn't think he was eating it properly!) And we have learnt one word in Thai, thank you! So we are doing well so far.

Well, that's about all, just thought we'd check in and say hi!

Sure we will have many photos soon to show you all as we are off to see the Emerald Buddha tomorrow and the Grand Palace. Also particularly keen to get a Thai massage in the temple. Considering sending Rich on the Thai massage course so he can learn how to give me proper massages. Only 10 days!

Well cheerio for now.

Love to you all Rach and Rich xxxxxxx

You know that in Thai 'thank you' is different depending on whether it's being said by someone male or someone female right? Neil and I spent a good week or so saying thankyou as if we were girls before figuring it out.

hey guys, I've really been enjoying all the updates and pictures despite being green with envy!!Rach, sent u a mail a while ago but think the email add is still the one u had at that lawfirm in liv st!!!oops! Soooo, you're in Thailand....I was envious b4 but noooooow!!!!!!Rach, if you want some amazing silver jewellery ask anyone on Koh San Rd in Bangkok for Mr Cool(!) He makes the best stuff and I aspire to be as good as him one day! He's quite dodgy though so I dont advise a long conversation with him. AAAAAnd if you make it to Ao Nang in Krabi, dont forget to go and say hello to God in Luna Bar on Nopparatharat beach! Also Railay is stunning, fantastic for snorkelling , you can take a long tail boat from Ao Nang there for the day, it really is worth going. I have to say you've chosen the best time of year 2 go there, the weathers fresher and cooler than normally, believe it or not!!!!! Thinking of you both and lookin forward 2 seeing you in March is it?!Nath sends a big slobbery kiss and I send one (without the slobber!) Love Sus xxx

This weekend
Rach - good to know you made it alright. Thanks for phoning on my birthday - really nice to speak. Last few days have been great fun. Birthday on Thursday with Anna. Then Friday night we went to the Jade with Anna, Mum, Dad, Kate, Will, Rich, Di, Charles and Lidia. The meal was amazing - definitely one of the best! Then met up with Ben and Luba later - went on to the Cloisters etc, etc... Next day, somewhat jaded met up with Nick and Seel as well and went to the wedding, which was fantastic - Alex looked amazing - food, wine, fireworks, great wedding band playing all the classics - usual antics - Charles did his "babboon dance" - apparantly it's all about "showing the woman the colour of your ass!" (his words, not mine). However, that aside, the Salisbury crowd were pretty well-behaved and we made it home very much in one piece. We even managed to 'phone Birdy in Cayman! Sunday - very lazy - and a fat roast chicken cooked by me and Will, which wasn't half bad even if I do say so myself! Everyone asking after you loads. Enjoy Thailand! You must get to Wat Po - best massages in the world! Lots of love, Giles
