The main road next to Anantara from pedestrian overpass to Gareth's place Day 2 – We had a great breakfast in the diner (The Anantara Sathorn) and then headed across to Gareth’s place which is literally only about 400 metres away. We made a trip to CentreWorld Mall (the 11
th biggest in the world and apparently once the biggest) in search of a pair of walkers for Julie. Pretty much a wasted trip as they didn’t have what she wanted anywhere. We had a vegetarian late lunch there because it was nearly 5pm (more like an early dinner (in the most up-market ‘food hall’ I have ever seen) and then went back to home/hotel for a couple of hours before taking a ride to the Train Night Market in Srinakarin. This market offers typical Thai food as well as antiques and heaps of very good second hand clothing. There are heaps of bars with live music which the locals obviously enjoy. Nothing much of (buying) interest to us but Julie did buy an excellent North Face jacket for around $30NZ. There are some fabulous restored American cars on display (presumably for sale) as well as other memorabilia like old motorcycles and scooters. This market is largely frequented by the locals and we saw
Mercury
Gareths no 2 Cat only one other European couple there amongst the throng. We had a quick snack and left the market just after midnight. It apparently goes until about 1am.
