Sunday breakfast
celebration for a tough week being over! I thought I would write a second post about my weekend, since I didn't really do that much. I was so sick and having the food poisoning at the beginning of the week just exhausted my body, and if there's one thing I know about myself it's that proper rest and TLC is the only way I feel better.
On Saturday I woke up feeling like I had glass shards in my throat but I had planned on meeting up with Quan, my friend from university who has been living here teaching for the past year. I was really looking forward to it so we planned to meet at 3 at Sincheon station. As I walked up the steps in Sincheon station I saw Quan's familiar face, I was so happy to see someone I know (even if he IS asian..) my happiness was squashed when I was greeted (in true Gordon Quan fashion) "What, are you retarded?!". I was about half an hour late so I guess I deserved it haha. Asshole translates!
We went walking around Sinchon for a bit looking at all the people selling things on the street. Quan wanted to eat but my throat
delivery bikes
i'm not sure why they were all in this area, but it certainly was nice not to be dodging so many of them on the sidewalk! was just not having it so I sat with him while he slurped his vietnamese noodle soup. After that we took a cab to Itaewon which was much closer than I thought it was to me. That place is a trip. There are so many white people, something didn't feel right! They have a bunch of outlet type stores, Nike, Puma, Athlete's Foot (?). I bought a bracelet which I think is kind of ugly but I need something to cover up my wrist tattoo at school. Tattoo's are illegal to get in Korea unless they are given to you by a Doctor and I don't really know why a Doctor would be giving a tattoo. Anyway the parents don't like it so I cover it up, no biggie. After Itaewon we took the subway to Myeong-dong or as I would like to call it "heaven". There were so many amazing shops there, of course it is the 7th most expensive street to shop on in the world - pretty impressive! The crowds were thick but I'm not really bothered by this often. We had some ice cream and I bought a hat and we walked around a bit more
into some stores and got some coffee. It was really nice to be with an old friend having a full english conversation, I just wish I had been feeling better. We both had plans so we parted ways at around 7 pm.
I got back to my apartment around 8 and decided to take some advil and lay down.. fast forward to 10 pm when I woke up coat still on laying on my bed. I looked pale and felt terrible so I decided it was a good night to just stay in. I took a couple Nyquil and hit the sack around 11 and didn't get up again until 11 the next morning. I feel much better already!
I had a few errands to run and I was planning on meeting up with Pam for dinner but she wasn't feeling that great so we decided against that. Instead I cleaned my apartment and set out to enjoy the day - 10 degrees here and very sunny. It was a perfect Sunday, the kind that starts with a big breakfast, a good conversation with Mummy and my new hat! I walked all around my area which I am
the lower building of my school
all the restaurants are below the office buildings where my school is just starting to feel more comfortable with. There weren't many cars on the street and only a few pedestrians who were strolling like I was- not running off to work like usual. I went to Gongdeok station and bought some kitchen supplies and some other things I've needed. I went to a bedding store in hopes of finding a nice long fluffy pillow but no luck. I went in to a few stores I always pass on my way to and from work but never have the time or energy to go into. I also bought a few cookies and snacks for work. I took pictures and practiced reading my Korean..quite unsuccessfully. I turned down a few roads I wasn't sure of where they lead and got to know my area a little better than I had the day before. I could have walked farther but I decided I would take my things back home and start my blog instead 😊
Now I sit here as afternoon turns to evening, eating a perfect grilled cheese and bacon sandwich ending a perfect Sunday afternoon feeling much better than I did at the start of this weekend. How sweet!

great blog honey
I read your blog this morning and really enjoyed it. It's nice to see the school and the outside of your apt. Puts things into context for me. I'm looking forward to more. Love the hat - talk to you soon xx
