It has just hit me. I really want to be home right now. There's no specific reason, although I could give 100 if you asked. I just miss it. Mainly: mum nanny & papa lulu & cats papa's jokes full tea pots nanny's hugs friends the oven cheese toronto, that beautiful city good wine driving slice tv my backyard visits with family in the backyard restaurants. especially asking the waiter to tweak the meal so it's just right and .. they actually DO it :) less kids around me niagara-on-the-lake coffee crisps the blue, blue sky I appreciate home, Canada, my family more than I ever have now that I've been without it for a while and had the chance to revisit it. My mum said she was nervous I would feel differently about being home, ... read more

Let's fast forward 5 months from my last post to today, as I write this blog. A lot has happened since October - including a lap top that needed repairing. I will try my best to piece together the last few months with some pictures and whatever stories I can muster up for entertainment purposes. Now, let's back up 3 months to Christmas. Sadly I had to work late hours on Christmas Eve but high tailed it to Pamela's and spent the night with her and another sweet chick from Texas. We laughed and cried and I think sang a little.. Christmas day was a little snowy which was nice and I made sure to make the phone call rounds to talk to everyone at home. We had a fun, festive dinner with friends in Apujeong ... read more

Bees Knees. It's a drink and it's a little delicious. gin. lemon juice, honey syrup and a twist of lemon peel. I like the name and I really like gin and well, anyone who knows me at all will know I have a thing for bee's. Oh, and I was a bee for Halloween but it was hastily thrown together. No mini skirts or fishnets for this bee, no, no.. it was all very pg and appropriate since it was for the kiddies. I forgot my wings at home which was I think, the best part of the outfit. I can't seem to pull off wings unless it's for Halloween. We have a new director now, I may have mentioned this previously but this is the 3rd in 8 months for our school. It's alright though, ... read more

A week ago a few co-workers and I met at a relatively early(ish) time for a Sunday morning: 10(ish). We travelled the distance to Bukhansan National Park where we climbed Bukhan Mountain. I would have said we climbed to the top however someone who was with me that Sunday may read this and those who know me know I probably didn't so the truth is we climbed to one of the many peaks. Still, I got a nice view of Seoul! Bukhansan National Park is just on the North side of Seoul. It took about 30 mins to get there from Daeheung station and there is a convenient bus that takes you from Gupabal right to the entrance of the park. It was the most beautiful, perfect day to climb. The weather is turning a crisp ... read more

This is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada so it wouldn be right not to acknowledge it! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone at home. I would do bad, bad things for some roast turkey and moms stuffing right about now :) Some things that I am thankful for include but of course are not limited to: - family that loves me and friends that miss me (i am surprised, too!) - my healthy, wonderful body - tom pettys "free fallin\" - I was always grateful for this but now I will be even MORE grateful upon my return to Canada: drinkable tap water - sea salt List goes on but I have things to share... Last week was Hanbok Day in Korea. Hanbok is traditional clothing that is worn by men and women during festivals or other celebrations. They ... read more

Happy Birthday Nanny! In true ridiculous blogging fashion I think it is only fair to create a birthday masterpiece using a picture of my Nanny and Microsoft Paint. So here it is, To a lady who is not only sweet but always sweet smelling. A lady who taught me to love crafts and Judy Garland. A thoughtful soul who clips out newspaper articles to send to me even when i'm all the way in Korea :) A woman who is very smart, knows hundreds of flower names and bird names.. seriously, she's never met a plant she didn't know the name of... A chickadee who always has a mint, a pen, a kleenex or any other essential hidden in her purse just in case (-- this has been passed down to Mum and I and I ... read more

Here are a few videos of my precious monkeys. We have dance parties at random times of the day .. especially when they are sitting quietly doing work and least expect it. I flick the lights on and off and yell Dance PARTYYyyyyyy! They know what to do. Note: the 2 boys in the bottom right hand corner of the 2nd video. That's why I had to stop..... read more

I'm a couple of weeks back from my Malaysian experience which was a well deserved rest. My school allowed me to come back to work without the quarentine period as long as I took Tamiflu while I was away. Blah blah. Malaysia was a beautiful place to visit, I'm so glad that I decided to go. I would have loved to stay longer in Kuala Lumpur especially, however, the island we stayed on was just divine. We flew out of Seoul on a 5.5 hour flight to KL and took another hour plane ride to Kota Bharu. From there we took an hour taxi ride to the Tuna Bay office and from there another 45 minute boat ride to the island. Needless to say, it was remote. No cars or buildings aside from the little shops ... read more
