and that creepy mickey mouse head thing would be michael.
Bees Knees. It's a drink and it's a little delicious. gin. lemon juice, honey syrup and a twist of lemon peel. I like the name and I really like gin and well, anyone who knows me at all will know I have a thing for bee's. Oh, and I was a bee for Halloween but it was hastily thrown together. No mini skirts or fishnets for this bee, no, no.. it was all very pg and appropriate since it was for the kiddies. I forgot my wings at home which was I think, the best part of the outfit. I can't [View Full Entry]

We brought oranges! Apparently not enough to keep you going for 6 hrs..
A week ago a few co-workers and I met at a relatively early(ish) time for a Sunday morning: 10(ish). We travelled the distance to Bukhansan National Park where we climbed Bukhan Mountain. I would have said we climbed to the top however someone who was with me that Sunday may read this and those who know me know I probably didn't so the truth is we climbed to one of the many peaks. Still, I got a nice view of Seoul! Bukhansan National Park is just on the North side of Seoul. It took about 30 mins to get there from [View Full Entry]

This is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada so it wouldn be right not to acknowledge it! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone at home. I would do bad, bad things for some roast turkey and moms stuffing right about now :) Some things that I am thankful for include but of course are not limited to: - family that loves me and friends that miss me (i am surprised, too!) - my healthy, wonderful body - tom pettys "free fallin\" - I was always grateful for this but now I will be even MORE grateful upon my return to Canada: drinkable tap water - [View Full Entry]

Girls getting eachother ready for the picture
ladies, all the ladies..
sally, anneliese, alice

Happy Birthday Nanny! In true ridiculous blogging fashion I think it is only fair to create a birthday masterpiece using a picture of my Nanny and Microsoft Paint. So here it is, To a lady who is not only sweet but always sweet smelling. A lady who taught me to love crafts and Judy Garland. A thoughtful soul who clips out newspaper articles to send to me even when i'm all the way in Korea :) A woman who is very smart, knows hundreds of flower names and bird names.. seriously, she's never met a plant she didn't know the name [View Full Entry]

Here are a few videos of my precious monkeys. We have dance parties at random times of the day .. especially when they are sitting quietly doing work and least expect it. I flick the lights on and off and yell Dance PARTYYyyyyyy! They know what to do. Note: the 2 boys in the bottom right hand corner of the 2nd video. That's why I had to stop.. [View Full Entry]

cab ride to the airport
Malaysia 236
Malaysia 239

I'm a couple of weeks back from my Malaysian experience which was a well deserved rest. My school allowed me to come back to work without the quarentine period as long as I took Tamiflu while I was away. Blah blah. Malaysia was a beautiful place to visit, I'm so glad that I decided to go. I would have loved to stay longer in Kuala Lumpur especially, however, the island we stayed on was just divine. We flew out of Seoul on a 5.5 hour flight to KL and took another hour plane ride to Kota Bharu. From there we took [View Full Entry]

Backpackers unite!
The girls
On our way..

Two things happened today that really stand out in my somewhat boring scheduled routine day. I'll start with the bad one since I've always been the type that prefers the good news last. 1. I bit into a plum that had a WORM in it. this may not seem like a big deal to most people but I almost fainted. I don't really care for worms or creepy crawlers but to have one in my mouth was just.. so.. gross. 2. It rained. I mean it raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnneddddddddddd! and I love this. This is actually one of the things I love most [View Full Entry]

vacation update Asia
Last night the North American teachers met with the new Director and basically got the same round about answers that we got before. - They strongly recommend we cancel our trips. They can not ask us NOT to leave the country during our vacation. - If we cancel they will pay the cancellation fees for us. - If we decide to leave the country and we get infected with this flu we are automatically deported meaning no more S. Korea, no more teaching. - If we decide to leave the country we must come back to Korea and take 7 days [View Full Entry]
