Hello all. Well, we moved on from Penang - another gruelling bus journey, but not really, the bus was CLASS!!! Better than an Airplane. We had armrests, legs rests - the works. Perfect for a 5 hour journey to Kuala Lumpur. As soon as we drove into KL, we knew we were going to like it. A great big urban centre with huge skyscrapers. Found a popular backpackers guesthouse which was close to everything and, best of all, cheap 😊 For our fist day there, we took a walk around and bumped into the KL Tower, so went in. One of the top 5 tallest towers in the world, it had great views of all KL. There was an animal park at the base, housing flippin snakes of all creatures, monkey's, birds, lizzards and (Claire's favourite) Spiders. Claire held a snake while Colm ran away to the safe little birdies - Coward. The next day we had to see what was on all the postcards - the Petrona Towers. Very Cool. Kinda like the twin Towers were in New York. Got to lunchtime and couldn't believe our eyes - O'Briens Irish Sandwich bar. Finally - a normal home sandwich. It was
delicious. Lots of expensive shops in the towers, so went outside to the aquarium - cool walking underneath sharks that looked hungry. On Valentines day we were very romantic - went to the Batu Caves, a Hindu holy place you get to by climbing 270 steep steps. We wanted to see wild monkey's though 😊 Then went for a romantic meal - Traditional Fish and Chips. Everywhere was booked solid. But we really enjoyed it (and the wine!!)
It came time to leave KL and head for the last Asian spot - Singapore. Went to the bus station and got an even better bus than the last one. As you can see - the buses are much better in this country than Bus Eireann. Got to Singapore for the last 3 days. Stayed in another cheap but very nice guesthouse in "Little India". Lots of Backpackers here. Took a hop on - hop off tour of the city to get our barrings. Nice spot. That evening we went to were all the nightlife was. You wouldn't believe it - a whole district of pubs and clubs in "Clarke Quay". Perfect name huh? The last day, we went to the zoo
and night safari. Nice day out and the night safari was cool. Went into a cage with bats flying by your nose - Claire loved that 😊
Next stop Brisbane in Oz.
