We arrived in Singapore yesterday afternoon after a very quick and easy flight from HK - anything seems quick and easy after a 11 hour flight of being turned upsidedown in turbulence mind you! We immediately received a text from Dave Turner who had seen my facebook status and who said he was in Singapore, and did we fancy meeting at Raffles Long Bar for a Singapore Sling - too right we did! Raffles is gobsmackingly beautiful, very romantic setting and the bar is so cool. The Singapore Slings were surprisingly tasty (and so they should be at 9 UK pounds a go!) although you do get the feeling they are mixing it up in enormous vats out the back somewhere! We had a great evening out with a few more cocktails courtesy of Dave - thanks Dave! And we wish we had a friend like this in every city 😊

So after a fairly early night (Dave had a presentation at 10 am this morning) we agreed to meet up again tonight, and headed back to the hotel. Our hotel (Golden Landmark) is once again a really nice surpirse considering the pennies we paid for it, and we were

Apparently a delicacy but the picture is at least slightly off-putting. Perhaps we will subsitute it for a kebab on the way home one night???
looking forward to kicking back by the pool today and getting a bit of colour, but have woken up to a much cooler day (mid twenties only we guess) and full cloud cover! Still, being British and very stoic we stayed out for a couple of hours by the pool anyway before picking up our goose chase camera antics again. With 400 shops to try in one arcade I think we will make this our last attempt and if we don't buy today I hope we will give up and make do with what we have!

Singapore is nice - very easy to spend time in. It's less hot but more humid than HK, much much bigger with way less traffic and much wider roads, much cleaner, no nasty smells, friendly people, good food, posh bars etc - more to see tonight! We will update you all again soon.

Lots of love, C&R xxx
