I was sad to leave Boracay. It has probably been the best beach I have ever been to. However, we had a flight to catch. Next stop, Thelma's home town of Valencia on the island of Negros. Thelma prays that I don't kill us on the scooter at Baclayon Church. Built in 1727, it is the oldest coral stone church in the region. One of the oldest churches in Asia.

This is the site on Bohol island where the Filipino natives (sitting down) signed the first treaty with the Spanish after much fighting. Not sure who created the statue, but the Filipino chief looked more European than Filipino.
