A soccer ball is the ball used to play soccer, amd Nike is known dor selling the most soccer balls a year compared to adidas. One of my greatest passions is collecting Nike soccer balls. However, after conducting research I am thinking twice about buying so many soccer balls. While conducting research, I learned that Nike was a proud supporter of child labor. Nike soccer balls are created in Pakistan by children rather than adults. The soccer balls that many people use to play soccer are actually created by kids as young as 5 years old. Not only does Nike support child labor but they also support minimum wage. Nike pays the children sixty cents for every ball they stitch. The average income of a person in Pakistan is about 5 dollars per day and roughly 1900 per year. Many people did not know much about Nike supporting child labor, but Life Magazine released a story on a boy named Tariq living off of 60 cents per ball that he stitches. The cheapest soccer ball sold by Nike is $20-$30 and the most expensive is $150 which sows how Nike is making a massive profit from having children stitching their balls.
