This trip was right after my 1st year medical prof exam and was one that I had been looking forward to do for a LONG time. Left Karachi on the 17th of July 08 and came back on the 29th Day 1 17th July 2008 Woke up at around 4 30 am, had a very eventful night. Got a call from the police station at 1 00 am the night before informing us that our stolen car had been found near Gaboul. So well at around 6 30 am the bus(Awan Coach) and left khi at around 7 30 am. 2 00 pm I had lunch at ranipur(the very same place we had when we were out on our family road trip). So the film crew that was in town organised a night of "traditional" Hunza dancing in order that they could film it for their documentary. All the westerners in town were invited as guests. The sword dancing was particularly cool. All sounds fine. Until that part of the evening when they ask the tourists to dance. Now I know that only a few of you have actually seen me dance, but I'm sure the rest of you can imagine. Not a pretty sight. So, anyway, as well as being interviewed for this docu, I am now also playing a staring role in the dancing section. Very embarassing. Rakaposhi base camp

Friday September 15th After a few relaxing days in Karimabad it was time to leave for Minapin and Rakaposhi Base Camp trek. We had breakfast, checked-out and then walked down from Karimabad to the KKH. We hailed a Suzuki that was going to Aliabad, a sort of market town with onward minibus to Minapin. It took about half an hour to get there, during which we had to have all our lugages on our knees to be able to squeeze an extra person in. Comfy! Then we had to wait for about an hour and a half for a minibus to leave to Minapin. We passed time by drinking mango juice and looking at the people around.
