Im hoping things will cool down a bit, and if they dont, then i will just head to the northern areas and stay away from violent areas such as peshawar and islamabad. Reply to this

Dear John Wilson,

Welcome to pakistan,
glad to know about your visit to Pakistan from India. First, let me to highlight you about visa, it is true that you can obtian pakistani visa in Delhi but i will prefer you, try to get from your home country, i mean from Canada.

As you & Kans were talking about security setuation, am not saying there is 100% safe, the only problem along the afghan border (trible areas) which are 100 miles away from your destination with in country. That what i mean to say, still many places are in the country where foreign travelers visiting. Sorry to say, all the news what the strange tourists hearing from Media, which are totally not the realities. We have seen many tourists individually visiting us, especially female travelers and really going back after tremandous wealth of travel experience with the locals.

Therefore, you plan is enter via wagha border to Lahore, so i can assure you that you are traveling in the very peaceful region of the country. Also you will see many foreign tourists during your trip. I have some canadian guests here in Islamabad they are returning back to home (toronto) after a month staying in the country. They visited beautiful northern areas (Gilgit & Hunza).

Feel free to ask me if you need any help for obtaining visa or any kind of information about the whole country and i shall be glad to reply you accordingly.

Have a marvelous time on trip to pakistan in advanced,
