Today we walked to the Telecomunications tower which is the 4th tallest in the world (276m)with the tallest being in Toronto. When we arrived at the gate we were greeted with a free shuttle bus to the entrance. We then went in a lift that took about a minute to climb 276m. Our ears were popping on the way up!
Bing! we arrived at the observation deck where we were handed a set of head phones and our own little hand held tv for the commentry around the deck. It was good, you could see all the way to the Batu caves about 50km away. There was a haze over the city, or should I say smog but you certainly got a good view. From up here we could see the Petrolios twin towers. (we didn't go up these because you can go much higher in the tower so would get a better view, or it could have been because you have to be up early to get the tickets for later that day and we would have missed breakfast!) Anyway after an hour up there we shooted back down in the lift and walked to the twin towers to
have a look. Very nice tall buildings. We had a look inside the shopping mall thats beneath it, but after passing all the Gucci and Armarni shops we turned round.
Heading back towards where we live we went to the Lemon food court which was nice then to the internet.
That evening as it was pouring down we went to the BB Plaza for a look around then to the supermarket for cheap vodka and red bull and munchies.
After rotis for tea when went back and watched tv and movies with a little drink.

This morning we had a late breakfast then walked to china town to catch a bus to the Batu Caves which are 15km out of Kualua Lumpur. There are 3 massive limestone caves one of which has a Hindu shrine in it where Hindus make a pilgrimage during January/February for a festival, Thai Posium. As you arrive you can see the massive cliff faces appearing between the high rise buildings.
We got dropped outside and made our way into the grounds. We saw straight away the 140ft Hindu statue in front of the main cave, it was very impressive indeed, bright gold in
colour.
As we entered the grounds, as usual we got attacked by the usual "helpful" staff type people. Trying to sell us the "guided tour" which was a pair of headphones and a recording. We decided we would do it alone.
On the way up the steps there were lots of monkeys, agressive monkeys! So staying clear of them we made it to the top. The caves themselves were very impressive with lots of massive stalitites hanging down. The actual shrine was not all that. Because we were being eaten by mozzies we moved along. We made our way back down to grab some rotis for lunch.
As it was quite touristy we expected to pay a little more for them than the usual 70sen. We came to pay and he tells me RM10! this is for 4 rotis! So I, Melissa, kick off a little and in the end pay telling him he's having me on. I tell Andy and we moan a bit then he comes out with RM2, a bit better but we were still being done. Anyway we caught the bus back to China town, used the internet and then went to Petaling Street for
the market. Here we did some hard haggling. I (melissa) bought an adidas t-shirt for RM12 when he was asking RM35! I tell you he was not happy, but we had heard this about the Chinese. We were very pleased with ourselves, unfortunately there was nothing else we wanted so we didn't get any more practise here.
We walked back to the Golden Triangle and to the lemon food court for some dinner. After dinner we went to the BB Plaza to buy the complete season of friends dvd box set (original). There were asking RM140 which is just over 20 quid, so already amazingly good. Here we tried really hard to get the price down but it was not happening. In the end we got it for RM130 with another dvd I wanted with 3 films on it thrown in. This should have been RM12. So I think we did well. 14disc box set original for under 20 quid!! And yes they all work fine.
After a trip to the supermarket we headed back to our lovely guest house for a bit of tv and a chat with 2 irish guys we had met the day before.
Oh
we told the guy who worked at the guest house about our buys and discounts and he was genuinly impressed, so this pleased us no end.
