Edit Blog Post

Hey you. It's time to dust off the old blog and let you know what's been happening in the life of an expat. The last 6 weeks have flown by and I take this as an indication I am feeling settled into the new lifestyle. Although I must admit that I am starting to miss a few things like the media craze of American sports. Especially now that both the NFL and College seasons have started I find mys... Jam

here it isn't known as 'traffic' or a 'traffic jam', it is simply a jam and it can happen at anytime. I have literally been stuck in a jam and not moving for over 30 minutes at 3am.

vista tower was also supposed to be 'my baby' since I was slated to lead the leasing efforts. things fell through, but we are still loosely connected to the project.

Welcome to Borneo

I went to Borneo (East Malaysia, State of Sabah, City of Kota Kinabalu) with Geoff to get scuba dive certified. this incredible open air fish market was across the street from our hostel.

I wish I could say this was from coral and not a broken glass bottle on the beach. it has since healed up nicely.

Geoff and I constantly joked about who was the worse dive buddy and our instructor had zero confidence that either of us would try to help the other one in an emergency. every man for himself!

enjoying the blog
Adam, I can't tell you how much I love your blog and really appreciate your great writing style and humor. You should consider a career as a travel writer. I never knew you lived in Holland as a child. My entire family lives in Rotterdam and I spent every third summer there growing up and still try to visit once a year. Keep writing and I hope you're not too homesick!

Adam, I so enjoyed reading your blog while eating my lunch (11:00 - 11:45 CST). A lunch from 1:00 - 2:00 is the middle of the afternoon for me! You add a sense of realism to an area of the world I know little about. You also have a great writing style. The ISU Cyclones play Kansas this Saturday at Kansas. There were some unhappy Cyclone fans this morning after the one point loss to K.State on Saturday! Take care and enjoy, Jane Stalheim
