We arrived here the day before yesterday after at least 20 hrs of travelling, it was a long one and once we arrived we were ready to sleep forever. So we have been having a good few lie ins. Malaysia is so different to anywhere else, there are so many different cultures and religions here. Its unbelivable how much can change in so little space. It feels good to leave Thailand as we felt we had done enough there. We managed to find the lovliest little guesthouse ( Its called stardust, if anyone reading this is coming this way) the man that runs it is so helpful and friendly. It feels more like we are staying at someones house than in a guesthouse. We found the nearest shoppign mall and its very westernised we had a good walk around, looking in body shop and various other western places. Last night was Zoes birthday - a girl we have been meeting up with along the way. So what started as a quiet indian meal turned into a big drunken night out at 'slippery senoritas' . Just imagine somewhere really cheesy like yates in malaysia, it was funny though and full of 200 of the oz navy so Zoe was happy ( and it was ladies night so ladies drink free all night)!! Today has been spent sightseeing temples and going up penang hill which is 700 metres above sea level and with the most amazing views I have ever seen. They even had a jungle canopy wlk up there which we all had a go on. Quite scary!! We are moving to a different part of penang tommorow, the beachy bit to meet Victoria and Ian ( Andys sister and boyfriend) so am looking forward to that especially as we get to stay in a lovely hotel!! ( thankyou Victoria if your reading this) You probably all know we are coming back a bit earlier now not sure exactly when but as soon as we are done. Looking forward to seeing you all.
