Me in the middle of a lot of tea
As sad as I was to say goodbye to Hady and Philip at Equator, it was time to move on to cooler climes. The bus up to Tanah Rata was every bit as stomach churning as I'd expected. Buses that big shouldn't go that fast around tight corners on mountain roads, but I survived!

I had only planned to stay one full day to see the tea plantations but they're closed on Mondays and so another day was added on. I stayed at "Fathers Guest House" which I wasn't overly keen on at first but really didn't want to leave after a couple of nights. I was staying in the dorm (a nissan hut) at a record breaking cost of RM8 (£1.20) a night!

Highlights of the Cameron Highlands were...

* watching the world cup final, despite the 2am kick off
* watching lots of movies when it rained
* a bizarre garden centre full of life sized disney characters and a massive shoe-house
* strawberries and ice-cream at the strawberry farm
* sipping tea overlooking the Boh tea plantation
* playing scrabble for the first time in a long time (!)
* walking through jungle up to a watch tower for a great view of the hills
* needing to wear a hoodie!
