Sunshine!!! Horrah!!! Ah man it feels good to have the sun on my face again after those 4 days of non stop rain! We spend a full day wondering around this brilliant vibrant Malaysian town learning all about the history of the Malays. We take a walk through a beautiful Malaysian village, Kampung Morten just north west of the town, we walk along the river down to china town where we wonder around some beautiful temples. Massive chinese influence here, we presume for the influx of wealth they brought with them with teh trading of spices 100 years or so ago. We visit a heritage museum where we take a guided walk through a beautiful Baba-Nonya house (Chinese Malay). We head back for a well deserved snooze and then hit up the sound and light show in the portugese area of Melaka. A 1 and 1/2 hour show on the history of Melaka and all that its people have been through - really interesting and we both really learnt a lot today!
