The brand new Venetian Macau, the biggest casino in the world
We woke up today and packed up our stuff ready to head down to reception and take a taxi to Bangkok airport. We arrived at the airport and checked in our luggage then went to a café upstairs and played cards while we waited for our flight to Macau. It was a short flight and we arrived at the tiny airport in the middle of the afternoon. After we cleared immigration we started to look for the best way to get to our hotel, the Grand Waldo on Tapai Island. To our pleasant surprise it was the closest hotel to the airport and was only a 5 minute drive. When we arrived we went straight to check in and after quite a wait at reception we finally were taken to our room. The room was fantastic, so much better than some of the places we’d been staying at recently. Soon after our luggage was brought up we got ourselves ready and took a long walk around the construction site of a future casino towards the Venetian Casino. After going to the Venetian in Las Vegas and loving it there so much we were both so excited to be visiting the Macau

Another impressive casino resort being built next to the Venetian
Venetian which was the biggest Casino in the world.

When we arrived we walked through this amazing casino looking around then headed upstairs towards the canals. This place was enormous, it was so easy to get lost in this massive casino. We followed the canals around for a while until we started to get hungry. We searched for an Italian restaurant but were having trouble finding somewhere decent which seemed crazy since we were in a Venice themed casino. We finally found a place but it looked terribly fancy and quite expensive as well so we decided against it and instead went to the place next door which served Italian, Mexican and Indian. We ordered our food and had one of the most terrible meals I’d ever eaten from a restaurant. The food was awful and to top it off it was ridiculously expensive.

After an extremely unsatisfying meal we headed down onto the casino floor to have a go at blackjack. The tables were quite expensive here and they had nothing lower than 100HK dollar tables which equated to around $13-$15AUD. I lasted around ten minutes before I almost had no money left, we had terrible luck

Our 5 star luxury hotel & casino: The Grand Waldo
I could barely win a hand at all. We were beginning to get frustrated and stopped to have a coffee at Starbucks before walking back to our hotel. We realised how much better Las Vegas Venetian is then the one here. When we arrived back at out hotel we watched some television then went to sleep.
