Vientiane!? What happens? There is nothing here! It's a street... with a couple of Tuk-tuks... and a restaurant or two... and that's...about...it! We're heading down to Si Pan Don- or the Four Thousand Islands tonight, which should be nice. It's near the Cambodian border where the Mekong is 14 KM WIDE, and is split up with... surprise surprise... Four Thousand Islands! (i think it's a lie, it doesn't look like there are that many on the map!) anyway, i'll leave you now with some pleasant photos from Vang Vieng... that perculiar little place...

Benny freaking out in a leaky boat
We spent 5 hours in Vang Vieng walking through the jungle trying to find one of the local caves and ended up finding some crusty old ferryman who ferried us across the insanely fast-flowing river of death in a boat that was barely a plank of wood. Fun fun. Turned out you couldn't go any further than the entrance of the cave :S oh well... it's the journey, not the destination... right?

gosh Charlie, its starting to sound a bit hairy!. beware the typhoon season specially near rivers and the like. it starts about now, in fact its already hit China. Gail has won another literary award, the rate you're going you'll be writing travel docos. heaps of love from us both.
