Edit Blog Post
feels like a long time since my last blog most of my time since the last one has been spent in Laos and we have had such a great time in this country.
we arrived in the capital vientiane from a over nite train from bangkok no problem crossing the border this time.
Arriving in the capital was very different from any other capital we have been to so far, their was hardly any traffic and no buildings over 7 stories high it was very calm and quiet for a capital city which was nice.
we spent our time here just relaxing and chilling out with a couple of beer laos in hand of course, we eat most nights at the mekong riverside resturants where we had some really nice food for very cheap, i decided to eat a mekong river fish one night which was really good considering the only other fish i have eaten is normally battered.
we spent a day sight seeing where we went to a cool place called budha park which basically explains it's self ( a park with budha's in) but it was worth going to. on the bus to budha park we
met a girl from switzerland and a guy from england who we later got the bus to vang vieng with. going back to the subject of food their are some great bakery's here where me and mika have treated ourselfs to some pastry treats, it's so hard making your mind up when they have such a selection i had bread and butter pudding for breakfast today it was beautiful.
Our last day in vientaine was a fun day we lived right next to the national staduim which basically looks like a non league teams staduim in England. We decided to go their for a kick about which was very enjoyable until a policeman came and ruined our fun by asking us to stop. Feeling energetic we went to the local tennis club that was next to the staduim and had a game of tennis with equipment they kindley let us borrow.
next was vang vieng where tubing is done on the river, we spent a week here becuase we wanted to make the most out of tubing. Tubing is defently the greatest thing i have ever done, it's such crazy fun. Tubing is basically yourself in a tube
floating down a river stoping at bars getting drunk and enjoying activities such as tree swings, zip wires, playing volley ball in a mud pit, and slides. it's so simple but the greatest fun i have ever had you meet some right chraracters whilst doing it, if your a young lad or girl that likes to have a good fun then you have to go to this place at some point in your life.
we went 3 times the first time we went we where just in shock that how drunk you get during the day. people just give you free shots and these are people that are tubing with you, then drunk you swing from a tree into a river it's dangerous but really funny at the same time.
WE where told good advice that once you get to the forth bar if it's gone past 4 oclock you should just get a tuk tuk back, we decided to ingnore the advice and try to make it to the end, we failed unfortunatley it started getting dark and cold, and we where way to drunk so we swam to the side walked through a bit of forrest and
luckily found the road and got a lift back.
after that we just got a tuk tuk back from the 4th bar the other times we went. when we didn't go it was so funny seeing people returning from tubing, you would here a noise then you would see a tuk tuk speed round the corner and their would be people hanging of the side of this moving tuk tuk, we heard stories of people falling of and braking arms its so crazy how drunk some people get their.
I could go on for ages about tubing adventures im just so glad i came here and done it, but also i am now happy to be in luang prubang which is more chilled out, a week of partying and i now need to rest.
Tomorrow we are going to a waterfall with a lagoon and hope to do some trekking here as well.
hopefully put the pics and videos of tubing on here soon!
