The calm after the storm

It was a perfect morning today in Tokyo.
The sun was shining, the sky blue and cloudless ... strange, after the high winds and heavy downpour of yesterday's typhoon.
We caught the Shinkansen Bullet Train to Kyoto. The train left precisely on time and we travelled for two and a half hours at high speed and arrived at 3:30pm.
In the evening we headed to the Seimei Festival at the Seimei Shrine. Here was a religious ceremony to welcome the spirit of Abe No Seimei, where people holding lanterns form a procession after which a Kagura dance and music performance is held.
