Somewhere over GuamSomewhere over GuamSomewhere over Guam

This is Anna whilst we flew over Guam. Yep, she was impressed.
Hello all,

It all started so well when we knew we were getting the exit row on the plane. 9 Hours and a backache later we landed. Customs took our rib fillet off us, despite all assurances from super butcher. An email is already being drafted...

The infrastructure in this place is amazing; there are roads on top of roads on top of railways on top of rivers on top of subways... A good portion of the city is underground!

We arrived at our hotel around 8:30 on Saturday, we went for a bite to eat and while we were returning home it started to hail. That must mean good luck in some parts of the world.

We have visited a few places already and Troy was in heaven in Akihabara where all the building is 8 stories high with each story catering for a different technology. Even down to dedicating a whole floor to mobile phone accessories. Akihabara is known as the Electrical city………..with hobby shops and collector items such as pokemon cards…or whatever is in now…..but for adults…with quite a bit of fantasy/porn items thrown in for good measure.

We also visited Shibuya which is a major shopping district (as opposed to the endless shopping everywhere else). There is a shopping centre called Shibuya 109 which has 9 floors of women’s fashion, lots of stuff, most girls would love it, but most of it is too pink and girly for Anna. We walked past some of the club areas as well and have spotted the “Alcatraz” place we were thinking about checking out. It’s the theatre restaurant where you are treated like prisoners and the actual room is like a cell block and apparently you are handcuffed to the table etc. and the wait staff are wardens. Will have to see if it fits into our budget.

On Sunday night we met up with a few of Anna old work colleagues which started out in the park... That’s if you could call it a park, it had no grass, and only a small brick wall to sit on. But then again it was close to the 7-11 where we can buy cheap grog. After the bonding over embarrassing stories we headed off to a small pub which was crowded as. An old teacher had been playing there for years and was supposed to be leaving…….but never did. We left just after midnight while the others continued on……..lucky us.
We have been looking for a new camera over the past few days and will be buying one this morning. There has been so many to choose from and have decided to get a pretty red one...

Also this morning we are checking out and heading to a love hotel.... Watch this space……….
