Hotel 03 - 1
This is the room in the love hotel. Well......lots of things have happened since our last rendezvous.
We checked out of our normal hotel and then went to buy a really cool camera we had finally decided on for less than half the amount you would pay in Aus. Yay! This took quite a while but was well worth it. The weather was quite cool and raining so we decided to head to the Toyota Salon and the Sunshine 60 buildings in Ikebukuro. We had some time to waste in the arvo as we couldn’t go searching for a love hotel till later so we decided to play some games in an amusement centre (games parlour). The one we chose was fairly small but it still had 9 floors of games with one floor dedicated to skill testers. Was good fun. We then decided to stop for a drink at an izakaya (which was bloody hard to find coz we couldn’t read any of the signs). We then went to collect our suitcases and began our journey of finding a fun love hotel to stay in Shibuya.
We eventually found an area called Love Hotel Hill with some help from bewildered locals. It was kind of behind

It had an underwater theme. part of the club area in Shibuya. WE walked the streets dragging our suitcases stopping every now and then for one of us to go in and check out the photos of the rooms at reception. There weren't really as many quirky ones as we would have liked but eventually we decided on an ocean theme room. The rooms are equipped with a big bed, bathroom, TV, DVD player, fridge and extra small vending machine with drinks and sex toys etc. Condoms supplied with tissues by the bed, cool lighting system and all the toiletries you need for an unexpected visit. Very funny. Our spa bath even had disco lights. Nobody sees you go in....you can park your car discreetly behind curtains etc. too for added benefit.
WE slept late that morning as there are no windows in love hotel rooms so it was pitch black. We left there and then spent approximately 2 hours searching for some lockers big enough to hold our suitcases. Many laps......many stairs.......many places looking the same....ducking and weaving through the crowds......then 4 train stations later and much more searching.........the needle in the haystack was found.
We then try to work

and cool black UV lights. out the subway system to find the huge fish market in Ginza.......however by the time we got there...all action was gone and there were empty stalls everywhere...........damn.
After the disappointment of the fish market we headed to the Sony Building and checked out the new 3D TV’s and other cool stuff. Tokyo Tower (330m) was next on the agenda and a huge temple right across from each other. It had been raining most the day and was really overcast so it wasn't worth us going up to the observatory to see nothing. Our plan is to go back another day when it’s clearer. We leave this area and head to the Red Light District of Roppongi.
As with everywhere in Japan, Roppongi has some massive department stores but this has more embassies in this area so there are quite a few foreign bars. We decided to have a few drinks at a pub and then head to a shot bar "Geronimo’s" before we have to leave to meet our friend Megumi. Troy had "Joe's Arse" and a "surfer on acid" shot; I had a "Brian Haemorrhage" and a "green lantern". Was yummy. There is a tradition at the

Sex toys are down the bottom bar there that if you can manage 15 shots in one night you will get a free t-shirt and a plaque with your name on it on the wall. Pretty cool place.
Never really found the red light part....bit disappointing...maybe another day. We then had the arduous journey of returning to find our luggage lockers and then get on another packed train to reach Tokorozawa where we stay for the next few days. Our late night rendezvous with Megumi and Hiroshi takes us to a local izakaya for a few drinks and some food and then bed eventually.
Yesterday, we spent the day with our new hosts. They took us to an old historic town called Kawagoe (Anna used to live there), a big computer warehouse....much to Troy's delight, then a baby shop to get some stuff for my friend Eve and then a huge hardware store (probably 8 times bigger than Bunning’s). WE had a dinner date with Hiroshi's Sister and Brother in law and ate Yakitori (meat on skewers) and lots of drinks. Troy tried chicken liver, chicken hearts, chicken stomach, raw octopus, pregnant whole fish.....head and tail and everything.....sounds yummo.....I just stuck to the basics....chicken......u
