March 25 Weather – looks like Tokyo is under a permanent rain cloud – fog and grey skies + rain off and on all day – Temperature: 15°C
Decided to do some more exploring of the area around the hotel.
Nearby is the Museum of Maritime Science, the building was constructed out of poured concrete to resemble an enormous ship. Unfortunately, the building was closed for renovations; but they have provided a sample of the exhibits in an adjoining annex. All the exhibits were in Japanese, but the visual displays of photographs, videos and models were still very informative.
Walked along part of the harbour which is undergoing an extensive rebuilding of the harbour seawall. The harbour in this area is bordered by a large public park which we wandered through on our way back to the hotel. Cherry blossoms are still in bloom but are starting to fade.
One wing of the hotel is a large atrium area reserved for weddings, multiple religions, with adjoining rooms for brides and their attendants to get ready. As it was Saturday the facilities were well used.
The hotel also appears to be the hub for several tour companies; we saw a fair number of tour busses pull up to the front to unload and pick up their guests. The hotel, being that it is close to Tokyo’s other airport, is used by flight crews for their overnight stays.
Finally found out today why my photos connected to the blogs have not been appearing. It appears that part of the program/server provided by the site has a bug in it and nobody could upload their photos, nor see what photos they had posted in the past. Hopefully it will be fixed shortly
Also, we were notified today that another wait-listed shore excursion for our second cruise finally opened up, so we snagged it right away.

Happy Holiday
After a dreadful lapse on my part I was just going to contact you when I discovered you're in Tokyo! Oh Wow. It's great to hear from you and take me on another holiday. I'm up to Blog5 and as usual finding it very interesting. Please keep them coming. The photos are all now coming through perfectly. Hope you are both in good health but do watch out for Covid.
