5 Star Hotel
We are dining in style at the 5 star hotel with Pastor Wah Lok and the students and staff of the college. A once in a lifetime experience for many of them!!! Hi Folks,
Stephen here, the course is finally over and we have had the experience of a lifetime. This week has been very eventful as we have been leading up to the graduation. Wednesday was our final studying day in class and on Thursday we had a rehearsal for the Graduation. After the rehearsal we then showed a 10 minute presentation of photos etc that we had taken during the time of the course. We then had communion together which was a real blessing to share with the people that have become great encouraging friends to us. Everyone then went out to a 5 star hotel to have a meal together. There were 37 of us which included all the students and the staff of the college. 70% of them had never been in a hotel like that before!
Tonight the graduation went extremely well. It was held in a local hotel (where we got food poisoning a number of weeks back). There was an outside stage set up and the principles of both the Malaysian Singapore Bible colleges were there. There were a few spits of rain at the start of the night and a few rumbles of
The Students.
No no no, you dont need to rub your eyes, we really are this good looking!!! thunder but it did not materialise thank goodness but the overcast sky and slight breeze still didn’t stop the sweat from running down our backs. All the students had to sing a song to the 150 or so people who had attended. Thank goodness me and Bronagh were standing near the back of the stage!!!
The diplomas were handed out by Pastor Woh Lok, the president of the Malaysian Bible college and we have had the pleasure of getting to know him over the past couple of days. We are going to meet up with him again when we go to Malaysia. We are very excited that we both got distinctions, yeeooo!!! But I have to say that Bronagh came first in the whole class. In the 10 year history of the bible college they have graduated over 500 students and never in has anyone got an A+ in every subject/assignment until tonight so they created a new category because of Bronagh’s grades….Double distinction! I married a quir brainy woman!!!! And you will see in the photos how lovely she looked in her Indian sari. We had a fantastic night that we will not forget for a long long
The Future Preacher.
The only one in the class to get an A+ for her 15 sermons gives a word of testimony at the graduation. time.
In the morning we are off to North India for 4 days, we come back again on Tuesday and we would appreciate your prayers during this time as it can be a hostile area. I also need to gather as much information/photos/stories as I can for helping to gather support for when I go back home (If you can fit me into your church/organisation or anywhere to speak then please let me know). We have never been up north before and the people in south India even see this area in north India as quite dangerous and very very poor.
We are starting to get to the stage where we will be glad to get home also. It will be great to drive on roads where you aren’t competing with 20 motorbikes for every inch of space and to be able to drive without 100 horns beeping constantly will be class.
We won’t have internet access until Tuesday and I will update you again about the next few days.
God bless to everyone who is keeping in touch.
Stephen
