Petronas Twin Towers Kuala Lumpur
Petronas Twin Towers Kuala Lumpur
These towers were visible from almost anywhere in Kuala Lumpur, fantastic Buildings.
Well, We have returned from Kuala Lumpur where we had a relaxing 6 days before coming back to India for the last 2 days of our trip. We can’t quite believe that we’ve come to this point. It has been quite a journey. We have seen God work in truly miraculous and incredibly humbling ways. As always with trips like these, you come to be a blessing but end up being blessed far more. We have had so many highlights along the way, it would take too long to list them all, but we know that God has brought friends into [View Full Entry]

Hi to all, Just a quick update for those who are interested. We left Singapore on Saturday morning on a luxury coach. The seats were like those in the first class section of a plane. Five hours later we arrived for an overnight stay in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and then we flew to a small island off the east coast of Malaysia called Lang Kawi. It was actually raining the first day we arrived but we didn’t mind so much as we were tired. We spent two days on the beach and pottering around before flying back to KL. Two days [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone, Well our work in India finally came to an end and we are currently on official holidays now. We are in Singapore at the minute and when we leave on Saturday we are going to Malaysia for 10 days. Our journey to Singapore was an interesting one as we found out at the airport in India that our plane was just about to take off as soon as we arrived at the airport, the time of the flight had been brought forward but they hadn’t informed us. However they soon got us onto another flight and we arrived in [View Full Entry]

Hi again everyone, Well we (Bronagh, Pastor Kumar and myself) have returned from North India and we had a fantastic experience. We flew to Calcutta (now called Kolkata) on Saturday morning (2 hour flight) and spent a few hours around the city. The poverty was very obvious even compared to where we are in South India. With 1 million people living on the filthy dirty streets there was a general feeling of oppression wherever we went. It was a very common sight to see people washing themselves on the public footpath while here and there, water was flowing up from the [View Full Entry]

We are dining in style at the 5 star hotel with Pastor Wah Lok and the students and staff of the college. A once in a lifetime experience for many of them!!!
Hi Folks, Stephen here, the course is finally over and we have had the experience of a lifetime. This week has been very eventful as we have been leading up to the graduation. Wednesday was our final studying day in class and on Thursday we had a rehearsal for the Graduation. After the rehearsal we then showed a 10 minute presentation of photos etc that we had taken during the time of the course. We then had communion together which was a real blessing to share with the people that have become great encouraging friends to us. Everyone then went out [View Full Entry]

Traditionally the women sit on one side and the men on the other. Everyone sits on the floor. No one complained about not having a stained glass window or a 'proper' hymn book. The church was a basic ... [more]
Hi to all, We have quite a bit of news to tell you all about. We really are very humbled by God’s faithfulness…. The new church that we have been telling you about was opened last Saturday. The New Zealand team (who are now away back home again) were instrumental it getting the church started. They spent the previous two weeks door knocking in that community and had laid the foundation for the work in a lot of prayer. Great to see the work they did and to see another church started. You may remember reading in one of our previous [View Full Entry]

I was with the kids for an hour or so. We had a nice time just chatting etc. Half way through they had duties to do and I thought they were bored and wanted to leave!
Hi everyone, Friday night update! We have two weeks of the course left now and all assignments are complete. Woo hoo! Had memory verse test yesterday and sermons being handed in next week so we can now relax. Harvest runs an orphanage for tsunami orphans, next door to the house we are in. On Monday evenings I am doing some craft things with them. We did the good old black paint and fairy liquid thing which they seemed to enjoy. They are having an amazing input into the lives of the kids as they all come from slum areas, and now [View Full Entry]

Just a quick update, Yesterday we had a day off and took the scooter to Ma-ha-bura-le-brum (I’ve no idea how to spell that!) which is about 40Km away. It’s outside the city, and we travelled along the coast for an hour or two. It was great to have our own time and space, we just toddled about on the bike, got a subway, then hit our favourite ice cream shop, Kool Cats. Not quite Ben and Jerry’s but it’s a heck of a lot cheaper! (£9 a tub here!!) Then yesterday evening Stephen was feeling even braver and took the Jeep [View Full Entry]

Hi Folks, Stephen here, I thought it was time for another update. It is hard to believe that today we completed week 7 of out our 10 week course! Time is going so quickly and we don’t want this experience to end. We are surrounded with great friends in our class, although just like home there are a few EGR people….Extra Grace Required!!! There have been a few student leave the class over the past few weeks because of their own work commitments etc but there is still about 18 of us left. The deadlines for our assignments are drawing near. [View Full Entry]

Hi folks, it’s Sunday afternoon, and I can’t face any work today. Stephen is snoring away so I thought I would update you all, use my time constructively and all that. We are almost there, and to be honest, we can’t quite believe where the time has flown. We are so grateful that we have had the opportunity to experience all of this. It has truly been a blessing. What has struck a real cord for us is the way in which the people around us are living by faith. Harvest have an orphanage called House of Hope for orphans from [View Full Entry]
