New Church LaunchTraditionally the women sit on one side and the men on the other. Everyone sits on the floor. No one complained about not having a stained glass window or a 'proper' hymn book. The church was a basic
... [more]Hi to all,
We have quite a bit of news to tell you all about. We really are very humbled by God’s faithfulness….
The new church that we have been telling you about was opened last Saturday. The New Zealand team (who are now away back home again) were instrumental it getting the church started. They spent the previous two weeks door knocking in that community and had laid the foundation for the work in a lot of prayer. Great to see the work they did and to see another church started.
You may remember reading in one of our previous Blog entries entitled ‘The Course and the Culture’ on 17th May about Bronagh and Myself doing Bible meditation and hearing God speaking to us through reflecting on passages in the Bible etc. Here is a short snippet from that previous entry that I wrote after explaining that we had to go and read and pray individually without the influence of anyone else around us.
Quote ‘……Psalm 16 stood out to us both about us being in a foreign place with Christians and that our ‘lot’ was secure etc. We are both at peace about a house
New Church LaunchThere was about 100 people came to the new church launch, a lot of them were from other churches but there were a few from the local community, it was a great experience
and jobs when we go home because we know that God very much has his hand on us but this was just an extra confirmation that He has everything sorted. We don’t know where we are going to live and we haven’t a clue about jobs etc but God does…..its a class feeling’ un-quote.
A few weeks ago we found out that we have a house to move into from around September time. Last night (Wednesday) Bronagh was offered a maternity leave for next year too. We have been provided for in a huge way and we know exactly where it all has come from. God has been so good to us and its brilliant to keep seeking him for direction etc. There are doors opening up for us that we never thought of before. Pastor Kumar encouraged us to go to Malaysia and Singapore for a couple of weeks and also a couple of the lectures (one from Malaysia and one from Singapore) from our course also encouraged us to go. So we are going in the first couple of weeks of July and we are looking forward to it, it will hopefully be a more relaxing couple of weeks. We have a sense that there is more to it than just a time to relax, we may be wrong but we are leaving ourselves open to see if God is going to present us with new opportunities of some sort (and I haven’t a clue what that might be if any).
We are starting to look forward to getting home again (around the middle - end of July) and catching up with everyone.
God Bless
Stephen
