Wow! Varanasi. It lived up to its all its reputions in 24hrs!!

- We got ripped off by our tuk tuk driver
- We were stunned and humbled by the endless ghats filled with bathing pilgrims and locals
- We saw the 'burning ghats' where those who can afford such an auspiscious funeral are cremated on the banks of the Ganges.
- We took a sunset boat along Ganges and took in the sights as hundreds of people crowded into the water to bathe
- We watched as holy men lead evening chants, prayer, preformances to an enormous crowd
- And we both got food poisoning.....

all in 24hrs... needless to say we spent the next day in bed....

Varanasi, it is all of India packed into one place. You can see everything here from funerals to weddings to processions, to midnight crazy men dancing (still confused on this one), all animals everywhere, I even got peed on by a cow!

Best of all we reunited with Steve!! one of our Varkala buddies, and while there was no body surfing in Varanassi, of any descriptrion, we explored the endless labarynth of markets and silk shops together, or at least did our best to keep up with him!
