10.30am so we go down in the hotel restaurant for brekkie. Hangover food tastes so good. I get back and we watch a movie in the room and I update the blog. Omg the captive was an awesome movie. We were on the edge all the time and shouting at the laptop. Why can't they hear us. We then watched another crime drama as we are hooked. We order in awesome coastal prawn curry and naan. Yummy!! Post the movies we take a break and recoup to go discuss our tattoo designs. We take an uber instead this time. Saps says she is too crook to join us in her sexy sick voice. Em and me it is. I take Em to an organic cafe and leave her there while I go bargain for the tattoo ... read more

After a good sleep in we begin on what we shall call Em's local adventure. We shop in the local mall for a charger cos Em forgot hers. We also get more food and get back to the hotel and get ready to kick off the night. I had to go collect my debit so i asked Em if she would like to get into a rickshaw for fun. I am sure she regrets when she said yes. 3 hours later we have seen the worst traffic, people driving around like maniacs, non stop honkin, feared for our lives, backs broken from the bad roads and done with being locals. So much fun!!! We pick Sapna from her place and head to Aer bar. It is incredibly beautiful and has amazing views of the city and ... read more

We wake early on the last morning in India a little sad to be going home but fully refreshed from the fantastic nights sleep in the Taj hotel’s luxurious bed. We are also very excited to explore Mumbai as the first impressions we had last night coming in were all good. We start off with the early morning yoga session by the pool and after this the teacher serves us some delicious tea made from lemon and 2 other ingredients, that tasted sweet but wasn’t honey or sugar , we didn’t catch the name of it but it really did taste great. After a final dosa breakfast and some lovely tasting cakes at the hotel we head out towards the market area. I have researched that there is a 150 year old market here that sells ... read more

So I decided to try writing a blog - good suggestion from Em's mom. We are already in holiday mode. We booked goa so that was exciting. Cant wait for this trip to start. We got seperate cabs to the airport because I am taking half of oz back with me and we cant fit in the same cab. The traffic is horrible and we were worried about lost lounge time. But we make a solid plan. We are just going to have to drink faster. Someone has to do it and who better than us.We get to the airport after a sauna in the cab. Em's driver even tried a sneaky lets go ... read more

A trip to heaven and back - Himachal Pradesh, India :- As you enter the Himachal Pradesh from Punjab side, you notice a big board put up by HP tourism department – Welcome to “Deo Bhumi”- Land of Gods. It has its own typical high density tourist places like Shimla, Manali, Dharamsala etc but what is still hidden away at other side, is where the real heaven is. This side is open to tourism only for a short period of about 4 months in a year as during rest of the year it remains inaccessible due to heavy snow with temperatures at many places falling below -30*c. This tour is offitially called Kinnaur, Spiti and Lahaul tour, a part Alpine Zone of Greater Himalayas. “Lonely Planet” has ranked it as 2018 one of the ten top ... read more

“Like one of the great God’s in India picked up a Tjernobyl housing project by its roof and dumped it in the backyard of my hotel…” That’s what it felt like, when I went to explore the outdoor gym, off-site from the hotel. It wasn’t much. The field outside the gym was made in to the shape of a baseball diamond, with a spongy track around it filled with potholes. On the side a lonely tennis court that had seen better days, inside a steam room and gym that many of us would gladly walk passed and behind it all, a beige apartment complex with bars on every window, clothes hanging out to dry and rust everywhere. But I was and am adamant to get my exercise I, so until I move hotels, I am fully ... read more

Are flight attendants still living the life? Are there still exclusive airlines that set themselves apart from the rest? There are but not many. It has all turned in to the same goal. Transport as many people as possible, as fast as possible, for as little money as possible and with as little frills as possible. At least that is the story for Air France. It certainly wasn’t a bad flight, not at all but was it good? Was it different? No, not really, it was the same as most of the other major airlines out there. The times of flying, as we knew it 80/90 years ago, is definitely a thing of the past. The glamorous stewardesses, the untouchable destinations. It all came to a grinding halt over the last 30 plus years. Having said ... read more

Introduction After many years of posting blogs as we travelled around the world, we’ve decided to keep this blog short & sharp, and let our photographs do the talking for us. We hope people will find it equally informative and interesting. With 3 grandchildren to celebrate & enjoy, we now don’t travel as much but will continue to do so during some of the English winter to warmer countries. Mumbai – The city you love or hate We flew to India with Jet Airways – unremarkable journey, though our choice of their vegetarian option was spot on. Unfortunately, to get the cheaper flight to India, we arrive just after midnight the next day and thankfully were met by our friend from London – Satish - and his cousin Swapnil Kulkarni in whose home in the Mumbai ... read more

It was that time of the year again when Swati and I start making plans for our annual summer vacation. Actually it's more of a monsoon vacation as that is the time when our business slips into off season. However it coincides perfectly with the holiday season in Europe. Last year, our travels took us to Switzerland and France where we were accompanied by my childhood friends; the Chitnis's and the Mirajkar's. We had a blast and as is the norm made a pact to travel every summer together. By the time summer turned to winter and winter to spring, the pact was forgotten or buried under the debris of everyday grind and responsibilities. Unfortunately this year Mirajkar's would not be able to make it. So it was going to be Swati and me along with ... read more
