From the bazaar in Jaipur
Okay so we scrapped our plans to head into the desert as it was nearly 50 degrees celsius in Rajasthan with the heat index. So we headed for the hills! On a bus! With beds.....

So the thing is about the so called sleeper bus is that it's still a bus and you spend about half the time airborne because the drivers are freaking crazy. On the drive up the mountainside, I saw no fewer than 3 people getting sick (not in our bus thankfully), but I kind of wish we had stayed in the sleeper compartment rather than move to a chair, because you couldn't see how absolutely insane the driver was.

That aside, we made it fine, and the temperature was much nicer in the hills.

We took a couple of days to relax and just stay in the hotel. We splurged a little bit and stayed in the former summer home of one of the maharajahs and it was very very nice. Probably why we didn't leave for two days! Alex and I walked the two miles to see the Jain temples at Dilwara, which were very intricately carved, but no photography was allowed. You

Beds on a bus? Brilliant! Or maybe not!
can probably google pictures of it if you want. On the way back we had cocktails at the nicest hotel in town which was a hunting lodge built by some englishman or another. It was VERY nice.

The next day we had breakfast in the garden of our hotel, but after ten minutes alex was sunburned (not badly though). So we moved inside and were able to catch the train to Bombay later that day.

Which of course was late.

Mumbai/Bombay (both are acceptable apparently) is a very very cosmopolitan city with a more European feel than other cities in India.

And within 5 minutes of being here (I am completely serious) we were asked by 2 different agents to be in film shoots -- one for a Bollywood movie and the other for a Yamaha commercial.
We did end up doing both, but the movie was a night shoot and ended up being cancelled 😞 but we still got paid hahahahaha!
We are of two differing opinions on the commercial. Alex thinks it was great fun and with good food, but she got to sit in the shade all day with the other foreign models.

I, on the other hand, had to dress up as motorcycle pit crew and get sunburned for 10 hours. My legs are still sore (2 days later) from all of the sitting down and standing up!

Other than that we have been hanging out around Colaba. We were asked to do some more shoots, but I really have no desire to do so.

We are leaving for Goa tonight!
Love to you all!
