As 2010 draws to a close we have been slowing down a considerable amount. After a sunny Christmas (which although lovely wasn’t nearly as good without the obligatory sprout and the people we love) Helen arrived on the 27th and moved in to the hut next door.
The things we have in common are the things that we are happily filling our days with; swimming, reading, playing games, eating and drinking. We often find that the day has flown by without us realising and that the planned trip to the other end of the beach will be put back another day.
We are being treated very well by the bar staff in our ‘hut resort’. We have a brilliant waiter who sings us our orders back and corrects our English. We have started getting ‘hut service’ where we have coffee delivered to our balcony in the morning rather than walk the energy sapping 20 steps to a table. It’s tempting to order a pizza to be delivered one day so we can say we’ve had pizza (in our) hut. Ha ha ha, little things.
We’ve met a couple who live a few huts down who have tried out
the local dentist. She has saved herself over £1500 on her dental bill (she got a quote just before leaving home). With this news the three of us took off in a taxi the next morning and found the well hidden, odd little dentist and requested three check ups. We were seen almost immediately and have booked ourselves in for some dental MOTs over the next couple of days. Luckily there was an opticians downstairs where Steve and Helen will be buying themselves a new set of eyes too. This is definitely the place to come for all things teeth, eyes and plastic surgery. Steve’s really looking forward to his new set of boobs.
Tonight we’re going to be partying in a beach bar called Neptune’s Point over the rocks and around the other bay from us. There will be fireworks, big screens and aerial displays so we should have a good night, it’s just a matter of staying awake long enough to see 2011 in.
It’s been a year never to forget, we’ve had masses of adventure and fun and in some ways we can’t believe it’s nearly over (sometimes we can’t believe it’s actually happened). We
feel so lucky and even 11 months in I’m still pinching myself to see if it’s a dream.
Wishing you all good health and a year bursting with happiness. We will be raising a glass in your honour.
Lots of love and 2011 kisses
