As usual my ever supportive friends arranged another trip for me. This time to a nearby tourist spot called Nagarjuna sagar notorious for crocodile infestation. I was all excited to catch some crocs in action after my failed attempts near Manjira River last month. Bundled up everything I could call outdoor gear in my back pack and headed out on to the road with Nikhil, Abhinav and his soon to be fiancée Deepika - all classmates from college.

It all started off as anything but an adventure trip. Guzzling down beer, smokin the car up, blasting the living heavens off a boom-box and scandalizing all the villages we pass through it was more like how Priya aptly put it "Picnic"!! The drive from Hyderabad took us about 2 hours. Luckily we were all sober enough to do some minor trekking to see what we came for. But not before we filled ourselves with local cuisine The Super Spicy Chicken and Fish. By the time we were done Niki and Deep were breathing fire literally. With our gastric urges curbed we headed out to the infamous Etipotala Water Falls. Its supposed to be an Crocodile breeding farm complete with an educational

and awareness centre. The water falls itself was supposed to be infested with crocs. Funnily enough we didn't even find a single croc a far cry from infestation. We did find a lot of monkeys and Nikhil in his beer induced higher consciousness claimed he saw two baby kraits. We could not verify it for obvious reasons. One we were hanging on to rocks from falling over into the river. Two the foliage was f*&^ thick, there is no way we could see any thing.!!

After much crapping around I decided to cross over and go under the splash. It took some taunting, help, ridicule and guts to get over the other side. The water looks freakin murky and all the sign boards prohibiting entry into water were not much of a help. But I did make it and so did Abhi after much persuasion. Niki and Deepi were damn scared of water besides they had no change of clothes (That didn't stop Abhi, did it?). To be fair they did try but after one slip each on the greasy moss both were happy sitting on the other side of the river. That's the reason why no one will

remember you two as an intrepid explorer when you get old people. Actually it was quite easy apart from the slipping and Abhi did say the most inspiring thing that day. "You don't know when you will be here again. Do it Now!" Somehow I think it applies to all things in all. You will never know when a moment will come again, just seize it.

Before light failed I wanted to get on top of the hill and look over the water falls so we traced our way back and entered a clearing through I vaguely remember taking a few years ago. The guys were already tired and wanted to push off, but I persuaded them to try it. So after convincing them that it was a five minute walk we went around wading knee deep waters for about fifteen minutes and ended up a swamp. I realized I took a wrong turn and since light was almost gone we took some pics and headed back. Too bad we couldn't see the dam, the museum on that island and the subterrainan temple which allegedly is a 40 kilometer cave connecting two temples. This being a propagation centre for

Apparently some freak jumped off and landed straight on his legs on a sumberged rock and Splotsch!! Good day for the crocs.
Buddist culture in South India and Srilanka it all seemed much like the movie "The Touch".

And so our routine of scandalizing villagers, blasting the audio and smoking up started again. Abhi dropped each one of us back where we started and made promises to make a bigger better trip some time soon. Hope it comes sooner than later.....

Just for those of you who know Abhi and Deeps, they are getting engaged coming Jan. As much as it hurts to see a cutie get advance booked and being put off charts I should say Congrats you two and no I do not know any couple who compliment each other as well you two. The trip was great except for the damn crocs that refused to make an appearance!!
