Hong Kong
The stunning skyline of Hong Kong at night. We woke this morning and packed all our stuff, we were so happy to finally leave after what happened in the spa last night. We checked out and took the free shuttle bus back to the Ferry Terminal where we boarded a ferry to Hong Kong. It was a much cheaper option to have a visit to Macau and take a ferry to Hong Kong rather than fly directly into Hong Kong airport which was much more expensive. The ferry took a little over an hour and dropped us off at the main ferry terminal on Kowloon. On the map it seemed a short walk to our hotel but since we got a little lost it took a while longer. We were really excited about this hotel because it was extremely difficult to book rooms with a view but somehow we managed to get one, they were quite a bit more expensive but apparently worth the money. We checked in and headed up to our room. The room was pretty standard but the view was absolutely fantastic. Our hotel was located on the tip of Kowloon next to 'The Peninsula' and we had an incredible view of the other side of

The spectacular view from our room at the YMCA Salisbury Hotel. Hong Kong city.
We spent a while in the hotel staring outside at the magnificent view, in the meantime we skyped home and also my cousin who lives here to see if he was around, unfortunately not. Eventually after catching up with everyone we headed out to have a look around and get some food. We checked out the tourist centre then walked around the busy streets looking for somewhere to eat. It was proving very difficult to find somewhere we both liked but once we found our way into the mall we headed straight for the California Pizza restaurant. We sat and ate lunch by the windows, which again had a fantastic view of the city, all the while looking through the mass of brochures we got from the tourist centre. After lunch we made our way back to the hotel to rest since we were both really tired.
Every night at 8PM there is a laser/light and sound show with different effects all over the city and on top of buildings. We tuned the radio into the correct station and watched the show from our room. It was amazing to see all the buildings flashing in

View of the city from Kowloon. time to the music, quite a sight to see and we didn't even have to leave our hotel room. The show went for around 15 minutes then afterwards Hannah and I walked down to the lookout point right at the tip of Kowloon. We got some incredible photos of the Hong Kong city skyline from here, it was a spectacular view. We spent some time there trying to get the best photo then continued wandering around taking more photos. We hung around a little longer before returning to our room where we fell straight asleep.
