the street with lots of eating areas and restaurants
A group of 7 of us went out for a meal to the local eating out area. Off we went on our bikes sharing the space with scooters, no lights on anything, no helmets, but we all got there OK. All along the rode in one spot were local fruit stalls with loud speakers set up hawking their wares.

One of the teachers speaks fluent Mandarin so we tried a restaurant that no one had been to before, a little further away than they have gone to. We got a great upstairs area to ourselves away from the other diners who all smoke and dine at the same time.

We were the odd ones out and certainly the novelty factor of the evening.

So we got a great meal with eight dishes, beef, chicken, fish, vegetables and rice with local beer which is very light all for 20 Yuan each which is around $5. Very tasty, and so far I have eaten everything and anything with no detrimental side effects.

And I managed to eat almost the whole thing with chopsticks, not like an expert but with some degree of skills which is improving by the day.
