Ridin' in Style
...just like back home. Saturday was a real treat for me. We were able to hitch a ride to a little hole-in-the-wall joint that sells western herbs, like oregano, cinnamon, paprika and parsley. Then I was able to locate some garlic powder and chili powder (not like the Mexican stuff, but the HOT Sichuan stuff.) If you mix paprika, oregano, garlic powder and cumin powder together it makes chili powder! Awesome, huh? Anyway the chili was a hit and my teenager ate the lion's share of it all last night.
Then we were off to Han's Deli. What a treat. I got the chicken fajitas. They were awesome! The owner gave us some garlic bread, lightly toasted and oh, so yummy.
After lunch we trekked over to the small commodities market and found the mother load of all Christmas stores in Wehai. It's on the third floor in the corner. I restrained myself and just bought a 10 meter string of blue lights that flash at seizure pace or stay static at the press of a button. I wanted to buy a fiber optic Christmas tree, but they started around 300 quai, so I passed. Hopefully, I can find something nice and not

I ordered the chicken fajitas but the quesadillas looked good too. I think I'll go back next weekend and give them a try. too tacky in the next week or so.
On Sunday I schlepped over to the brand spankin' new Lotte Mart which is apparently where everyone else in Weihai decided to go this weekend. When I was there on Friday, the fountain wasn't working. By the time Sunday rolled around it was up and running while '60 style jazzy style instrumental music serenaded the crowd. The weather was very mild for early December which made it especially pleasant.
