A long week end away with a girlfriend. We caught the fast train from Nanjing to Beijing but we jumped out at the first stop Xuzhou about 1 hour and 15 minute train ride. The number one tourist is the smaller Terra cotta Warriors. We checked into the Crown Hotel, dropped off our bags and caught a taxi to see the Warriors. There is a shopping mall across the road so we went for a quick bit to eat...... We settled for KFC. There are a variety of Chinese options but we just wanted a quick snack. The entrance fee was 90RMB to the Xuzhou Han Dynasty Culture Tourism Zone.First stop was the
Mausoleum which is right up the stairs at the entrance past the huge statue of The Chu King. This was very cool. We walked into an undercover area that just kept opening up and then down the stairs into a high walled pathway with small rooms either side. It was very scary. The into the tunnel and at the end of the hall was the tomb. Not the best if you are afraid of confined spaces but great. Then a short walk to the Terra cotta Army which is situated right in the middle of the lake in two building that look like pyramids. You walk along the Chinese maze bridge and arrive at the first building. The Warriors are all on horse back. I saw expecting to see so many more. It was still very cool. Then we walked to the Zhulin Temple at the top of the small hill. We met some very friendly locals on our walk up. We where like celebrities, posing and taking photos.<br style="color: rgb(33, 33,

These statues are really sweet and not really Warriors as such but more like everyday people. They are all a little different. There are men, women and children and all just a little different.
