Beijing I left Kobe and Japan on the 16th October for the 3 day journey to Beijing. As usual there was a splattering of fellow travellers, 2 Irish girls, a Japanese girl and the by now obligatory Aussie. The Comorants have a string tied around their necks that prevents them from swallowing the fish once caught. The fisherman allows the bird to swallow every 7th one approximately - allegedly the Comorants will refuse to work if he forgets.
